That Penguin is brilliant, Ray! So... fowl. :)

I always love to see rebuilds like this. You can really demonstrate the changes in this way. I personally find it a lot of fun to rework a poor figure into a thing of beauty. The work IS the fun. And the pay-off here is tremendous. Can't even recognize the source.

Although now I'm waiting for a two-shot of Penguin with Catwoman.

And that fish in the bucket is the real topper! That's just perfect... and shows your love of the hobby.

Thanks guys! Wor you are exactly right sometimes those fixer uppers are the most rewarding.

In fact the constant fixing up is likely why my interest has remained so strong in this hobby for like 12 years now because there’s always an opportunity to make the figures just a little bit better and evolve them over time. Sometimes it’s the simplest thing like replacing a tie or hands that can make you fall in love with a figure all over again .

For awhile there there was a select few very specific and negative people clamoring that it was only about full figures as art and protesting the elevated kit bashing movement that it evolved into but that didn’t hold a candle as it seems it’s well a thing of the past and full releases are fewer and far in between.

You’re also right in a general way I need to do more group shots! I don’t really have the right lenses for that so my focus is always off with group stuff you can even see that in the shot with the two penguins and his daddy. But it’s something I’ve been meaning to get!

CALVIN CANDIE

Head sculpt : present toys
Paint: #RFCustomfigures (me)
Outfit: yunsil
Accessories except hammer : @robbiethepainter
Body:worldbox narrow shoulder neck removed

I have not heard this talked about but somehow I am 90 percent sure these present toys are actually the unreleased Enterbay figures somehow. The hands make it a dead giveaway, not withstanding the fact that the sculpt is almost identical. Django I'm less sure about as I know his hat is the same thing as the old Kaustic hat just recast. in either case he is unrecognizable until a repaint is done.

Thanks for posting these - I really look forward to seeing this stuff! All of the paint work is spot on. I especially love the paint on the jnix head, which I believe is probably the best Ra's sculpt out there.

I'm hoping you've either got one, or are planning on customizing a bob the goon to put with the forthcoming balloonman joker head (y)

WHOA!!!! Slow down, too much good stuff here.

First, I could have sworn that Scarecrow mask was one of Elvis1976's original ones. Looks just the like the one I have! A real hood always makes that figure more true to the point of 1/6th collecting.

Batman is rock solid and that head is amazing. Ra's is really impressive. The paintwork on the sculpt is perfect, and the detailing in the armor really make for a rich and beautiful figure.

And.... CANDIE! Man, that figure just blew me away. The paintwork and that expression, in that pose, is just alarmingly lifelike. And all the variant shades of red in the outfit just pop and bring so much life and deviltry to the figure.

One day, Ray, one day I would love to see your full collection. It must be incredible. I hope they are on display somewhere.

Thanks for the kind words guys! Wor especially I love your eye for detail and your way with words. So humbled!

It's so sad my collection is s jumble of stuff shoved in a cabinet not displayed nicely at all in my tiny NYC apartment. I've considered moving to a bigger space soon where I can have a proper display, its such a bummer for me! I may start to show more on my instagram that I did not do myself fully just to showcase it a bit more after all every one of my figures especially those from Hot Toys and the like still have some sort of small mods here and there.

JOFFREY BARATHEON

Paint and hea modifications: #RFCustomfigures (me) full repaint of head and crown,, hair cut from crown, forehead cut and angled for crown to sit lower, crown heated and stretched to enlarge, jewels added to crown
Body: Star Ace Selene (with butt cut off) with Joffrey chest piece, neck padded - this got him to the correct height and more realistic proportions
Full figure: Threezero

A facelift and a butt tuck, this poor guy's been through the ringer :ROFLMAO:

Again, the paint job is fantastic! When I look at the before/after head photo, it's clear that he's gone from looking like a mannequin to actually having depth and warmth. Love the added hair strands and the crown sits way better.

More, please (y)

Now that is something I never thought I'd see from Raymond... an Ewok.

It's night and day, sir. Makes the HT look like a plush toy. And this is HT we're talking about.

Beautiful work on the face detail, as well as all the hair. Very scruffy as he should be living in the woods. Hood is perfect coloring too.

No Ewok compares.

I made my comments about Joffrey in the GoT thread on CF... but just amazing job as I see them again. Joffrey and an Ewok... who'd have thought.

After seeing Raymond’s ewok, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him post a movie accurate velociraptor that started out as a plush barney ;)

Freaking incredible work (y)(y)(y)

It's amazing, I remember when you started many years ago. The progression and love for this 1/6 world has grown
and improved, just as you have. I think you have to be creative to be happy. And as long as your love
for this remains and the creative fires burn, it always worth doing. As shown by your work. Bravo man!

Thank you SO much for the kind words guys. Those last two figures were such duds out of the box, it's always fun to see what a little extra attention will bring.

Ike- so beautifully said and I could not agree more.

I'm fortunate enough to make a living in a creative field, but the more senior I get I feel like I write more emails and documents than put my artistry into the day job these days as much as the young buck with a chip on his shoulder and a slim resume and hungry to prove himself as when I started my career which is around the same time I also collecting in this scale.

But the predictability and stability of where I am at now means that the artistry oozes out in other ways, such as this. I love my collection so much that just wanting more and wanting things to be better and not having the budget or patience to farm stuff out has allowed me to become good enough to make stuff for my collection that I deem worthy of putting in!

As things change life-wise I'll want to move onto other creative projects and have less time, so for now I'm trying to catch up on all the things I wanted to do that was piling on the work bench!

Thanks again for following my work and encouraging me guys, I know I'm not the typical artist that takes commissions and such so it means more to me knowing you're interested out of passion for the hobby alone. I hope I can at least provide some inspiration along the way!

SAUL GOODMAN

Sculpt: Vladamir Tolmachev directed by my good friend @Hos1m
Paint: #RFCustomfigures (Me)
Suit: Yunsil
Shoes: Gesus
Accessories and Hands: Threezero

Was excited to get this new head commissioned by Hosam. Vlad is a good sculptor and he really got the likeness here. While on the Bra Ba suit as a placeholder; This will be my Jimmy given his hair style and weight/age while the old head I had, the Jnix which I still love will be my Saul on this suit... but I do think this trumps that significantly in likeness.

As with all digital sculpts the fine detail and realistic texturing which Jnix excels at is not there so that is the trade off. The perfect would be a blend!
