That Mike is so incredible. Your progress even over the past 6 months is uncanny. Amazing work!

Thanks Man that means a lot!

Here is a very much WIP Larry David. Hopefully Robbie's glasses and shoes help. I fastened these together myself but I think the whole thing looks pretaaaaay... pretaaaayy.... prettay... OK. Could be better but I still like him a lot.

Clothes were a strange mix of crap I had lying around. everything from Kato to no joke, vintage Barbie (which I reworked a lot)

Its a great sculpt but Creg has really improved since this one as seen with the Mike. I've considered giving him real hair but it might just look crazy, we will see!

And here is an Aragorn 2.

I decided to go the ACI route as its true its almost better all the way minus a few things. Quiver and boots made it over from the Asmus. On a wortdbox narrow body shaved down a bit.

Special thanks goes to my friend Jacob Rahmier. Subscribe to his Pateron page to get access to tips on how to make this stuff yourself. I enjoyed watching his Aragorn video and picked up a couple ideas I would have not myself. Jake and his brother Rob also deserve credit for getting me thinking about doing another one of these.

Another thanks to Shane Poole for a few tips. A thanks goes to Y the Painter who painted the head on this one, as a fan of her work I wanted to send her something that was special to work on.

I did the hair myself but a BIG thanks goes to another great and longtime talented artist and friend Chris Caraveo (Kuato/CMC) this was a sculpture by him as he is venturing into this after years of painting and if you ask me he's already amazing. His talent knows no bounds and as seen by his Hellboy sculpt which is available to purchase now. Sadly the head is not for sale and it was a gift to me from Chris,

Fantastic figure !!
I hired Chris to sculpt another Aragorn head for me - it is planed to be a more stern look but in case it doesn‘t work he would go back to a similar look - I will get 4 sculpts
Hopefully it will be ready soon

Holy cow Ray, that figure is awesome! That may be the most lifelike sculpt/paint/hair that I have ever seen.

As far as bodies go in a general way I seem to have had a lot of questions about this lately so here is some info. These are my preferences for what I need for male characters)

1) Anyone on a suit - or anything I'm struggling with in a general way who has a regular guy build typically tends to work beautifully on WorldBox Narrow. I often Dremel off the neck and insert a plug. it's thick plastic so it's usually easy to sort of melt the peg inside a socket then regular heads sit on. I will also often yank off the lower arms tan put in a standard HT lower arm as their arms trend to be a bit too short especially on suited figures where I want the shirt cuff to protrude below the jacket cuff.

2) TT Slim or KO equivalent. I use these for skinny guys like Jon, Johnny Depp, Luke Skywalker, Larry David. Sometimes if a head is undersized I used this too and paid up here and there with what I need.

3) Dam Toys Rick style body - these tend to have loose joints so I only use them when I have to but when I do it's perfect. This usually works for guys who are regular build but slim. Especially if for whatever reason I need a narrower shoulder than a standard TT type thing. I had a few figures that looked awful such as Daniel Plainview or Jimmy from Boardwalk Empire even in their Yunsil clothing until I used this body. Its essential to have in rotation.

4) HT Han Solo (Tony stark) - Comes in handy so much. Just essential to have on rotation. Used it for guys like John Mclane, Tony Stark, Indiana Jones (modified)

5) Blitzway Durden Body - Exactly the same logic as above. Ends up just being the perfect build for some muscle guys. I think I swapped my X3 Wolverine onto this. I used it for Logan too I believe.

5) New Style HT body (Dr. Strange, Neo) - It's been coming in handy... best and most proportionate body they have done yet. I'm sure it will save me in a pinch

6) Bruce Lee body - Used it for the Crow, Jon snow at a time. Randomly for Cult King Serpico (head was too small for the body and Al is short) John Lennon (molecule 8 body was shit) it typically comes in handy for thinner guys who are shorter but also more built than the typical HT slim body.

7) Old style HT muscle bodies - Use these a lot however the waist is ridiculous and too skinny so I often pad it out. I prefer the one that came with The Wolverine as his thighs are thicker and more proportionate to the top.

8) Standard old HT narrow shoulder or HT "advanced" bodies - Use em both from time to time still, but very sparingly. proportions are odd on all of them. more often then not I pull parts off of them like arms or calves to use on other bodies.

I use almost everything, a lot of stuff not on this list. I'm always very bespoke about how I attach

I also generally Dremel stuff, paid stuff up with athletic tape, or take apart and swap things on bodies all the time. Swap arms. Swap shins (shorter or taller) Swap forearms (for length or visible parts etc)

Thanks for all the info, very helpful. Are these two bodies the same as the TT Slim?

Thanks, now I just have to find the right color pants. For shoes, for Larry, I think I might have to use the light gray New Balance that have been popping up on ebay.

Here is my latest: Old Plainview

Body: like 50 things... nothing stock looked good with this outfit and head combo... neck too long, shoulders too wide, head too small etc. so I used the parts from about 3 or 4 different bodies to get it right

Head: Mina yu - I was never a fan of the hair in the front and always thought the head was a bit cartoony so I heated it sand squished it vertically to make it less elongated and I sculpted new hair in the front, referencing how his hair was during the scene his facial expression come from. Really happy now.

Paint: me

Outfit: Yunsil (courtesy of my man Darth Magnus)

Pin: Rainman

Shoes: Newline reprinted and torn/weathered to match film accuracy.

I feel like no one is really going to care about this because we’ve seen this kind of thing before but it’s actually one of the ones I’m most proud/happy with from all of my work.

I’m in the camp where I think the Training Armor Wonder woman head is far and above the best WW head out there which includes all of the custom efforts. I didn’t just want to add hair to it I wanted to make it the definitive version of the head treatment I have seen yet.

her paint is tweaked to enhance likeness... something I do a lot on HT (and other figures) accentuation of the mouth, eyes, nose bridges eyebrows... does not take much to have a huge impact.

I did not just want to put hair on it as it was, so I shaved down the head bald and made an effort to push her hairline up higher, something I thought lacked from the original sculpt as her forehead felt a bit compressed especially with the tiara on it. I made an effort to make sure that when I completely haired the head I made the most accurate hair shape and hairline/part (quite happy with how that turned out BTW) to the Solo WW film. Because after all who really even wants to consider one of those other monstrosities of films that she was in anyways.

Continuing on that I could not use the HT Tiaras because of their over complicated “liney-ness” and while nothing was quite accurate, the Barbie Tiara was the most accurate to the solo film. Of course this took hours and hours to sand down razor thin and totally repaint to look high end.

Unfortunately the body armor does not match the solo film like the tiara does but it is what it is I guess.

The other notable mod here is the gold chain replacement on the lasso.
