Wow! What a true YEARS long quest by the man tbay who has never given up on this project and has allowed me to create my hometown hero and one of my role models for integrity, hard work, overcoming insurmountable odds, and being the best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be.

Thank you tbay for sticking with this, for commissioning all of the items to make this piece, and for all of the incredibly helpful tips, from the socks, to the body, to the application to the butt loo. Your effort paid off dude and I’m so appreciative. I can take credit for the paint, hair and assembly but the mastermind is tbay.

Also stoked to have some of the very best artists contribute to this awesome project. Bret stands among the best in my collection where he belongs!

Thank you Steve!

guys I finally decided to do an Instagram handle. I’ll still be posting everything here but if you are interested follow me : @rfcustomfigures

Here is another Bride. It was my original iminime head that I had Yelim paint and I haired myself. I still quite like this sculpt especially with real hair. When the Star Ace one comes out I will see if there are a few things to upgrade such as the outfit.

Apologies for picture overload here this guy was just too fun to photograph. Something I have been working on and off for about a year, maybe a bit less, after countless painstaking modifications and details, thrilled to have finally finished…

I always love seeing your figures and have followed you on instagram since you made the account.

I have so many questions - I guess the first one is because I love to come here and look at things, but I can't afford to do any of these custom figures.

You clearly have an art background, so I wonder what is it you do for work? How does one find the time to make all of these figures (since you do lots of the modifications)? How does one afford such a thing? Is this your one main hobby that you devote your time into? I understand that some people are much better off than others, but I always wonder how the people that do lots of custom figures are able to pay for such an expensive hobby. I just assume the guys that are REALLY into it focus most of their effort into that as opposed to splitting it up between other areas.

Have you thought about doing customization for a living or is this strictly a hobby/passion that you do for yourself and aren't interested in pursuing for full on work?

SeeThrough85 I love your thoughtful questions! thank you so much for your interest in me and my work. I will be responding with some thoughts soon.

Thank you to you guys here that have followed me, some of you for years! I will continue to update this thread even though I'm putting these on my instagram account I will continue to share here!

J.J. “JAKE” GITTIS

One of the GOAT movies I felt this figure was a little dated so I worked on it quite a bit for movie accuracy and to get him to the level of today's standards. I feel he is super up to snuff and despite the head not matching the outfit which was from an earlier part of the film, I went for iconic impact as opposed to sheer accuracy.

Ray, that Gittes figure is stunning. Absolute perfection. May I ask if Shumi arts did the shoes especially for the figure? Did you repaint the Yunsil buttons? It's fantastic. I'd like to see Balloonman do a take on a Jake Gittes head sculpt.

Thanks guys!
cpoll36 I replaced the buttons on the cuffs and vests with smaller buttons and I repainted all of the buttons to a proper tortuous shell color
I one hundred percent want to see balloon man take on gittis there’s another best of the best artist interested in doing a portrait also.

As for the shoes, I ordered shumi’s Leon shoes and was sent Stansfield by mistake. I offered to send them back but she graciously told me to hang onto em as a gift for the mix up. Class act. They are awesome and close to what gittis alegedlt wore (we can’t really get a clear shot) so it worked out perfectly.

Awesome, thanks so much for letting me know. Replacing the old buttons has really enhanced what was already a great outfit by Yunsil, and made it even more screen accurate! The shoes were a great idea too! If another sculptor plans to do another take on Gittes that would certainly have my interest. I'm looking forward to seeing what Balloon man can do with McMurphy from One flew over the Cuckoos nest. Another iconic Nicholson role!

Here is my next series, Taxi driver. Years of being annoyed anther lack of options and only having one very dated sculpt from many years ago really out there, I had to take matters into my own hand. The current front runner the head that Jake and Rob offered with fully sculpted hair by me. It was awful and took forever. I don't ever want to have to do that again.

We need new heads for both looks ASAP. Hopefully this will inspire artists and collectors alike to stop fucking around with Tony Starks and Jokers and actually make something that matters.
