Thank you man! Im quite happy with it yeah, as you said still room for better heads but at least now I don’t have to keep the second outfit in storage

Ray, your Taxi Driver figures are outstanding and the hair sculpting is simply great. I completely agree about the Travis Bickle sculpts. There is so much talent out there I just wish we could get definitive sculpts made that completely nail the likeness. It's not like there's even a lack of research material; Steve Shapiro's incredible Taxi Driver book published by Taschen has full front and side profile images of DeNiro in a massive book format!! It's all a sculptor needs to set to work.

Thanks so much cpoll. I assume we will see more versions of Bickle some day. I might have to start up a commission as it’s just not happening.
I do feel while not perfect i wouldn’t call it underrated as we see it a lot becuase it’s really the only option that can hang with modern high end sculpt... but more often than not this sculpt is quite mishandled.

His face was very devote of those deniro characteristics when he was young. While his face was in a blank state that is. And I think this sculpt did respect a lot of things that make up a good likeness. I think it’s the responsibility of the paint job to do the rest of the heavy lifting.

I’ve seen some amazing technical paint ups which absolutely miss the mark on his likeness with this sculpt.

I'd love to know what happened to Rovo Jin's Travis Bickle sculpt. It pains me to think that the sculpt might be lost for good (if) he was contractually obliged not to sell it elsewhere. It was the most incredible likeness, down to the haunted look in Bickle's eyes.

I thought it was a private commission?

The attention to detail and accuracy of all these characters is outstanding. I love how you captured the actual persona of the undertaker. The pictures of him in the fog and with his arms lifted takes me back to catching wrestling on tv. It was always on when I brought my wife back home when we were dating. He just looks like he's coming down to the ring to kick some butt and do an interview with mean gene okerlund :)

It's good to see an artist mixing in devotion and passion, - the results are incredible.

His Bickle was absolutely incredible! Sure wish we all had the chance to get one.

Wayne I can't thank you enough for the praise and for sharing that great memory with me! Thank you so much! Means a lot to me.

There is a lack of high end wrestling collectibles so that community lost their shit when I posted those two. Hope I can do some more wrestlers in the future too.

I think when Trevor did the first one he hadn't;t stepped up his game yet like he did with the minims figures he produced. The head always felt a bit flat, simian, and unrefined to me. Granted this was already many years ago. I had wanted a new one done so I was pleasantly surprised when I saw Alex had offered one. Alex is getting better and better all the time and I cannot wait to see what he does next. I think this is a clear upgrade in terms of likeness and refinement but I feel the skin texturing he had in his rendering did not translate into the print and cast and it came out smooth and soft overall. Hope he can fix this. Because of it it was very hard to paint and it really had to push my skills in keeping everything defined and clean lines especially in the eye area, to compensate for the lack of paint texture, I textured the sculpt with paint stippling, an older, very time consuming method I've been able to move away from mostly but pull out when I need too such as this case.

Amazing

Nice to see some love for Rust again, though I do prefer the Trevor Grove sculpts in terms of likeness. Nice work, Ray.

Thanks guys! Can you believe that TD season 1 and when we were all jazzed on it was 6 years ago already!? The hobby progressed a lot in that time. There’s elements of Trevor’s likeness I also prefer.
shocking in all these years this is only the second Matthew Mcconaughey sculpt we have gotten. Even with that Christopher Nolan movie he was in. But it seems even the Nolan fanboyism has subsided too.

Again, if I had the time to learn how to sculpt I’d be personally addressing stuff like this. I can only hope we see more in the future!
