I wanted to gauge the interest to see how many people might want a Winter Soldier custom head sculpt that has him with the mask and goggles he wears in the movies (see attached images). It is something I thought was missing from the current statue, and I would love to have it to display. I thought others might feel the same way.

I asked for some recommendations for artist and after speaking with Riteguy Tu (on facebook) and looking at some of his past projects, I got some information on what to expect. This is my first custom head sculpt, so the information was great to hear. He said if we can get at least 20 people interested it would cost between $145 and $185 per sculpt (to include painting). If you only want the sculpt, because some might have their own painters, then it would be about $40 (provide we get 20 people interested).

If there are only half that (10 people) it would be $80 for the sculpt and between $185 and $225 for the head sculpt painted. He is estimating each head sculpt painting to cost between $105 to $140 regardless of the quantity ordered.

Feel free to let me know what you think and if I don't have an answer I will try to get it.

Thanks

I'd definitely be in if this was Winter Soldier from TWS but Iron Studios gave us Bucky from CW and it might sound weird but I'd feel uncomfortable putting that muzzle on him when he represents the character non-brainwashed and free from Hydra. :dunno

I can understand and respect that. I just love the masked look and would like to have that as an optional head sculpt.

I'd be in for a painted version. Already fantasized that while I love this piece as-is, someone who knows what they are doing could really do a nice custom evoking comic art using the piece as a base.

Can you ask about a goggle-less, greased eyes version?

Sure, I can ask to see how that would be done. So far though, there is really only three people interested counting you and another person on Facebook. Without more people it is looking to be cost prohibitive.

Well, it's a fairly *pricey* (compared to some things) limited edition piece - also I suppose folks are thinking of the clothes/weapons that wouldn't match. IMO it's a *crime* that a TWS 1/4 movie Winter Soldier wasn't put out - a most-wanted piece for me - but I did mention in an e-mail to IS, pointing out that Sideshow who supposedly was gonna make Cap and WS never made WS and Cap had its issues.

And the new XM piece is comic based. I think one day we will get a "classic" movie WS 1/4, maybe when the cost of the license drops or something. I just hope IS or someone comparable? is the manufacturer.

Been complaints before, but IMO enough Caps, Iron Mans, etc. have been put out by so many companies I think at least limited runs of other comic figures should be done.

I agree with you. I wish that had put out a winter soldier as well. It would have been great to have that as an option.
