Hey everyone,
I've spoken with JNIX and he's agreed to do a Hoth version of his amazing Han Solo head sculpt if there's enough interest. This would be for just the face to insert into the hatted Hoth gear.

Here's a rough photoshop mock-up using his ANH Han as the base.

Interest so far:
1. TonTon
2. ShortRound
3. Raymond F.
4. Misterscruff
5. Tauntaun Han
6. generalgrevious
7. C-brock
8. teleray
9. wilcofan99
10. QuiGonFishing

I was aiming to get a clean break to send to Jnix. The back part with the goggles separates relatively easily, there are grooves and what seems like a light amount of glue or no glue there, or maybe no glue.

Where there is glue, however, is the top notch that inserts into the top of the hat. That could likely be cut easily, but I think to replace it with a head designed to fit in the same way, you'd want a clean separation. I just pulled and twisted until it came free.

If that's a potential hold up for some folks, I'd consider offering up that part for those that don't feel handy.

Here's how it fits together.

My primary reservation is that I suspect Hot Toys will do this figure in the future. And if/when they do, we don't know how they're going to handle their version of this head exactly, in terms of how it is produced, or its scale. Will the proposed sculpt fit in well with whatever they do? Maybe or maybe not. Another concern I have is that the JNIX sculpt won't fit as well into the SSC hat as it does in your Photoshop (even if someone sends him the hat, if the scale is off, what can you do?). And on top of that, I would have to buy the original sculpt, which I don't currently have. If he just sculpted the whole hatted head outright I would be more interested, though including the clear plastic visor may be beyond his comfort zone, or drive up the cost. But if I had the SSC version and just wanted an improvement, this would be a nice option.

Putting all that aside, any of us could just buy his Deckard sculpt and dremel off the hair to achieve what you're looking for here, no?

Some great points, kara. I think the idea here is to have a better end result than if we just dremelled one of the current sculpts, plus have the option of painted versions of the sculpt. My impression from the JNIX Han sculpt vs the Sideshow sculpt is the JNIX sculpt might need to be filled out just a tiny bit on the sides, and that it would benefit from having the hair removed but if this moves forward I will indeed be sending him the separated Hat and sculpt in order to ensure that it's as close a fit as possible. You can see that in the photoshop (I photographed them next to eachother and did not resize his head with the aim that it was an accurate representation size-wise).

But yeah, I would view this more as an upgrade to the SS than a pre-emptive Hot Toys upgrade--I still suspect we'll see Bespin and ROTJ Han before that, since those were both made by SS and Enterbay prior to the Hoth one.

what happened to this project hope it still alive

I spoke with JNIX and we need 40 on the interest list to proceed, so not looking good at the moment. I think Kara summed up a bit of the issue with people potentially waiting on the future HT. Plus some have had luck with the spacetracker head already.

Still trying to source the Blue Coat version. If I can land that, then this would be the natural go to move. But so far I've come up cold.
