Is anyone interested in seeing this 1/6 scale mechanoid enter production?

This dream project (sometimes nightmare) was made possible by my special commission (Thanks “Sean” and “Rick”) and me spending thousands of dollars.

Posting an interest thread to offset the considerable expenses was discussed during the project. However, I know how annoying it can be to see a concept image then have to wait months / years for the actual product.

I would like to see if customizers want a “Mechanoid kit” and I want to help Sean and Rick by gauging interest in a completed 1/6 scale Mechanoid option.

My wife has made two different body suit options. One is black and the other is a more metallic color that you see in the photos.
There is no paint on the resin parts you see. Please realize there will be resin imperfections that will require some putty and sanding. I spent hours sanding every part so that it would fit the body with the suit thickness. It is on a Hot Toys slim body. I integrated Hot Toys feet parts into the boots for better stability and possibility. I drilled out the resin parts so I could use magnets to hold the upper torso parts together.

I have also placed an order for various sizes of O-rings to see if that would be a better option than the resin rings with imperfections.

Considering the time and expenses to get the project to this point, I doubt any modifications would be possible.

The photos show the Mechanoid with a few other 1/6 scale characters for size comparison.

I finally finished my custom 1/6 scale Red Dwarf Kryten.

Thanks so much for the interest. :hi5:

However, there doesn't seem to be much interest for me to estimate costs in my dream project. :(

But good news... I finished mine.

That looks amazing. Really good work, man. I would definitely be interested, shame you can't get it going.

Thanks so much.

Everything is pretty much ready. I would have to place an order of all the casted resin parts. I even purchased about a hundred dollars of O-rings to reduce the time to make several figures (less resin sanding/cleanup.)

I appreciate it.

I'd be interested also, dependent on cost. Trying to put my Only fools customs together at the moment and would love more classic British sitcom characters.

Thank you. This custom figure has so much "fun factor."

Although all the "heavy lifting" is done, there hasn't been as much interest as I had envisioned.

I did experiment with one of my Kryten heads. These eyes didn't quite work for my idea.

So, is this project completely dead now? No way to get my hands on a kit, set, or complete figure?

Hi,
Thanks again for the interest. I wouldn't say dead, but definitely discouraged.

Unfortunately, there hasn't been much interest. :(

I spent all the big money commission to get a 1/6 scale Kryten created and set up so we could manufacture them. The molds are ready for orders and I even have a painter lined up.

I wanted to get it all ready to produce instead of making people wait (and lose interest) over the many months that passed from concept to prototype.

I am afraid with so few people interested and producing such a small number would drive costs up per unit. I don't want my fellow collectors to tell me what to go do with myself and my Kryten project. :monkey3

Fair enough. Keep me updated if the situation changes. He does look VERY good.
