The Wild Bunch is one of the best Western films, and has always been a favorite of mine. It's about time we get these characters in 1/6. I am starting this thread to gauge interest for this set, and then if enough is there, proceed with finding an outfit to produce these.

I'm thinking along the lines of IM/MW, like they did with their phenomenal GBU set. I know five figures is a lot, but if I recall, they did a bunch for their Breaking Bad line, so perhaps not out of the question.

So, what do you guys think?

Great film. Probably not well known by boardies here, and I doubt it would sell well to many of them, even if it was just William Holden and Robert Ryan. I've been praying for someone to tackle high end Liberty Valence figures for years, and it's probably not going to happen. Looks like Masterworks is doing Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, though.

The Man with No Name stuff sold, for the most part, because Clint Eastwood is such an icon.

Oh man, that's awesome!! Got a link to where this is discussed?

I'm not sure that it is being discussed anywhere on the board! But here is the WIP of Butch:

WHOA!!! That's awesome, thanks man. After missing out on the GBU figures, I'm not missing out on these two. Another one of my favorites (westerns are my favorite genre). Others I would love to see MW tackle would be Josey Wales, Django (Franco Nero - and I would modify an extra sculpt to be his character from the classic Enter the Ninja!), Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid, the Professionals and Unforgiven. So many good ones!

Professionals would be so great. Lee Marvin and Woody Strode FTW. Actually, Bogart and Marvin are the two genuinely "iconic" actors that it kills me no one has released as a high end figure.

Also, Kris Kristofferson and James Coburn from Pat Garrett and Billy the Kid would probably be insta-buys for me. Peckinpah was the man.

Absolutely, I love his style of western. I picked up an awesome DiD Coburn as Steiner from Cross of Iron head that I am going to convert into Garrett.

Don't know how I could forget, but would also love to see some Once Upon a Time in the West figures. These movies all have such rich and interesting (visually and personality-wise) characters that it's a shame it just isn't a popular genre anymore.

Bogart would be a first day order for me. There are many others I'd love to have from the truly iconic movies...John Wayne, James Stewart, both Hepburns, Cary Grant...

Id like Pike, Dutch, Lyle, Tector.

Was originally just going to suggest them, but Angel is pretty important to the plot. And Deke is too cool to leave out. Hell, if I had my way (and the money) I'd want Sykes too and the whole gang Deke is leading, or at least
TC and Coffer.

Maybe we can at least find someone like Caine to do the heads, as the clothing can probably be sourced from outfits like Battlegear Toys and Newline Miniatures.

I was actually considering going just Bishop last month or so. I would've used the only existing Holden sculpt off of EBay ("River Quai" version), and then bashed the rest from Battlegear, Newline, etc. Glad I'm not the only one!

Here's a custom someone did I came across. It was on a blog I've since forgotten, so I'm not sure of the source. The headsculpt is a bit rough, especially compared to what you guys are used to over here in the customs section, but I think it definitely captures the character of Bishop.
