This may not be the proper place to air this grievance. I just want to get the info out there.
I commissioned a sculptor to sculpt what I felt was the definitive Punisher. I think the sculptor delivered and I was very happy with the result. Upon release Tony Mei commented that it should be smaller as he preferred a smaller more "comic" scaled version. My vision was that he would be realistic proportioned and I was happy with it and offered it as is.
Tony is now offering this same sculpt in a smaller scale and is calling it his "Punisher 2.0" version.
Yes, I know this was a unlicensed offering. People like to take the stance that when these type of sculpts are offered, people think there should be no honor among thieves and there is no inherent right to ownership.
I want to make it very clear, I am not insinuating that Tony ripped me off. He went to the sculptor and paid the sculptor make a smaller copy that Tony is now offering for sale. I am discussing that with the sculptor now as we do have an ongoing relationship for projects.
It's just that I feel slighted in the fact that if Tony wanted to offer his vision for the Punisher, it should have been a new/differnt sculpt. I have been part of the 1/6 community for over 15 years and hoped that there would be more kinship/brotherhood in the community.
There are people out there that outright rip people off and again Tony DID NOT do this, that being said I think there there was an imaginary boundary line crossed. Just my thoughts, wanted to get it off my chest.
I am not as active as I would like to be, but my intent is to keep delivering high quality content to the community. When things like this happen, it just makes me not want to continue putting time and effort into projects.
Thanks for listening.
