If there was a firm decision about beard and no beard version, I'm sure there would be a flood of interest.

It will be with a sculpted beard. Hannibal had a pretty prominent beard. Not sculpting it just won't make the sculpt the best it could be.

If anyone wants it for a Green Lantern, it could be...Evil Green Lantern...
