The Wampa Project is moving forward and is now closed!

The full figure cost is $550 (plus shipping) and includes:
1. Painted head, hands and feet.
2. Hair application to hands, head and feet
3. 1/4 Articulated Coo Models body with modifications
4. Faux Fur body suit with weathering

The set of casts cost is $130 (plus shipping) and includes:
1. Unpainted head, hands and feet

UPDATE 1:
- I've sent a deposit for the sculpted parts; Caine has other projects in the works so it won't be until around November that the sculpts will be done.
- I found another 1/4 body, I will test it out to see if it will work rather than the Coo Model which has not yet been released.


UPDATE 2:
- I've settled on the Coo Models body and modified one
- A fur suit prototype has been completed


UPDATE 3:
- Sculpting has been started started by Caine
- 10 Bodies and fur for suits are on-hand
- Finalized pricing


UPDATE 4:
- WIP of Head Sculpt by Caine


UPDATE 5:
- Further WIP of head sculpt by Caine as well as the hands and feet.
- Pictures of the head, hands and feet on the prototype body- Hands now have longer claws and foot length has been shortened


UPDATE 6:
- Finalized (unless changes are needed) sculpts
- I will contact members tomorrow for deposits for the full figure or full payment for a set of casts :duff

We'd be a ways from a proto... this is really to see if there is the interest in the project to get a set of sculpts made. Two of the hold ups are the bodies (they are not going to be released until Q3, 2016) and Caine's schedule. He's confirmed he can take on the project, but it would be a few months.

However, if there is strong enough interest I'd like to move forward and get them to happen.

At this point the plan would be to use the upcoming Coo Models 1/4 body as it is the approximate height of a Wampa (9ft-10ft). As you can see the in the image with the Wampa dragging Luke, the men standing by the Wampa are drawfed by him. The end height would be somewhere in the 18' range.

The major modification that would be needed for the body is to lengthen the arms. It may be necessary to shorten the legs as well, but that would be decided when a prototype is being worked on.​

I'll test out some samples of faux fur (like the one above) to find one that will closely approximate the look and lenght of the screen-used Wampas. The final fur will be likely have some weathering and color added to take away the show-room shine of clean fur.

I've sent Caine a deposit for the sculpted parts and we are now in his queue.

In the meantime I'll continue working on a prototype body and fur suit for those interested in a full figure.

A quick bump for interest :duff

I received a 1/4 body in the mail today I'm going to experiment with and see how it does with some modifications. I'll also check locally and see if there is any fabric that might work at least for a test suit.

I'm interested in a full figure. The wampa seems a little too offbeat for Hot Toys to do despite their success with a fully-haired Chewbacca. I'd consider taking the plunge on this since the risk of getting an official version is low. A wampa would also go well with Sideshow's Hoth Luke and Tauntaun.
