This thread is for people to express interest in Claudia from Interview with the Vampire.

It is totally separate project from the Rahmier Bros. set. They said they have no interest in producing Claudia.

The main issue is the body. I found what I think is a reasonable body the Azone Pure Neemo Flection.

Pros:
Readily available and under $50 shipped.
For a jointed body it looks decent.
Pale skin tone.
There are a lot of available hands.

Cons:
Neck is pretty skinny.
The body with the more accurate height (M) has too large a bust for the character.

I'm going to order a size S and Size M body. I want to explore if it is possible to put the M legs on the S body. I also want to see if the neck could be enhanced to be a bit more realistic.

I’m aiming for this look to help keep things simple and low cost.

This is also the favorite Claudia cosplay/fan art look, based on seeing it pop up in image searches. I don't really like the dress form that exhibit in the Rahmier Bros. thread because it looks more 1990's than 19th century. Feel free to voice your preference. This is just a look I like and know I can source the material and replicate the design, but I'm open to ideas.



I would like this to cost in the $350 + shipping range for a set: unpainted head, wig, body, dress, necklace, shoes.

Waruna would be my choice to do the sculpt. I really like working with him. I will do everything else, if possible. Here is an example of my sewing and digital sculpting:

The problem with the simple outfit, in my opinion, is that it shows too much of the body... it has good articulations, height, but it's not meant to be shown. That's why I believe a dress covering her entirely would be more appropriate. Otherwise it may look odd near the other 2 that apparently will be Holy Grails of quality.

I'd be interested pending sculpt and how the outfit works with the body. Seamless arms would be preferred. Alternatively, it might be worth the additional $ to go with a more elaborate outfit. There are a couple of scenes where she's wearing a bonnet type hat. The goal is to have something that will complement the Rahmier Bros pieces.

Thanks for the feedback. There is one seamless option I am investigating from ATDoll.

I guess personally those joints bother me way less than say a HT double jointed arm, but I obviously want to deliver a look that people will be happy with and will feel reasonably stands beside the Rahmier set.

I'm a big Jane Austen fan, so actually was originally eyeing this outfit from that period:


I'll think about the feasibility of the outfits and present people a few choices soon.

Well, that was my original thought. I noticed that project and was surprised by your choice to be honest after investigating my Hermione doll further. Mathilda wears scoop-neck and v-neck t-shirts that are basically identical in exposure to the Victorians dress that Claudia is wearing.

That's clearly a boy's body that works with Hermione with her closed-collar shirt and bulky clothing. I think the PureNeemo has much better looking joints and is of course readily available.

There is a seamless body I discovered through Tokyo Doll (link is NSF):

It's the 25S. It cost $200 though! The hands are the only thing I don't like, however.

$200 and weird hands, I don't think it's worth that much. Would be better to spend on a more elaborate outfit to dress the cheaper body you originally found.

Agreed. If a suitable body can't be found that doesn't have all the joints showing pick a nice outfit where all the joints will just be covered up then.

I looked at that body too (crazy expensive and hands and feet need cut off and modded), and basically all other teen sized bodies for the Mathilda project (Asmus, CGL Connor, Pure Neemo, etc.). After getting the Hermione body in hand it felt like the best size and it would take the least amount of modding (sculpted chest/neck piece) for the time being. The Asian teen sized bodies all have breast and curvy hips, which Claudia and Mathilda don't since they're only 11-12 years old. Obviously, when a seamless teen body comes along it'll be replaced, but I doubt that will happen anytime soon.

It may not be the best choice for this project though anyway because of the height, since I think she was shorter in the film than Mathilda in Leon. The Hermione body came up to the exact height it needed to be when compared to the Enterbay Leon figure, a little over halfway between his elbow and shoulder like in this pic. Claudia does come up to about the same area on Lestat and Louie though, but they're 3-9 inches shorter than Leon. I'm guessing the Raimier bros set will just have them both be 12", so she could still work.

Ultimately though, everyone can choose what they prefer to use or just wait until a suitable body becomes available. Anyway, just thought I'd share my thoughts while working on the Mathilda project, the best of luck to you with this project, IWTV is one of my favorite books and films.

The Asian teen sized bodies all have breast and curvy hips, which Claudia and Mathilda don't since they're only 11-12 years old.

Kirsten Dunst was actually around 11. The Victorian dress I would have liked to have done certainly creates the appearance of hips with its bustle. The S body is flat-chested enough, which is why I considered the leg swap with a M body.

Actually this where Hot Toys being undersized (i.e. a TT male is not 12" tall) makes things odd. Kirsten Dunst is 5' 7" (170cm). At the age she filmed IWTV, she would have statistically been 5' 2" (157cm) on average, almost Natalie Portman's adult height of 5' 3". The CDC has growth charts, which as a mother of a daughter who will likely be quite tall, interest me.

I also estimated her height from a very clear shot of her standing next to the actress who played Madeleine, who is 5' 11" according to IMDB. That again suggested KD was right around 5' 2" during filming. So in true 1:6 scale, Claudia should be 26.25 cm, plus her hair and footwear.

They probably had Tom Cruise standing on boxes the whole time anyway. :monkey4

Lot of people tend to wait until they see some WIP pics or even a Definite decision on a specific outfit, who's doing the outfit, what body they're going with, who the sculptor will be, what expression the sculpt will be, who's painting and so on before they wanna commit.
Plus the other Two still has a long way to go so people aren't in a rush for this.

Since it is going to be limited, I'm going to wait until I am sure I get the Rahmier set. Then I'll pay for her head sculpt commission and start designing her outfit.
