Miami Pop Festival! :rock If a Monterey Outfit is done again, I'm probably Out. The key will be Sculpt, rooting of hair, and accessories. I have faith in Iris. Jimi was a Funky Dude!:lol Had a style all his own. I'm interested to see how this all Turns Out!:)

What about with stripe pants? Think of all those poses! ;) :rotfl

It's a tough call....... I can't make everyone happy but the favourite atm seems to be Monterey from pm's. Miami pop has the same issue with belt and hat and necklace to fragile unless done in Metal. :dunno

I'm with you on that Rene.... looking forward to seeing how it turns out. :rock

I found Butterfly bracelets on Amazon that I used for A Hendrix Custom. Many different designs and colors.

Agreed. I say make the Stripe pants as an add on option for the folks that want.

I’m cool with Monetary bro! It’ll probably be a big seller with that choice as DX set extra outfit since it’s iconic.

Maybe make a translucent fire piece to place on guitar;)

Monterey is the way to go. Other than Woodstock, it is his most iconic look. Monterey is what put him on the map and was his first major US gig.

Ok guys so here is some work in progress pictures..... Skin texture to be added as these are only progress pics.
The neutral will be changed to the rolling stones cover showing off the teeth a little.
CK asked me to post as he wants some feed back.

The hair will be rooted in the final :)

needs to add some slight wrinkles in there before the skin texture is added....otherwise...its a great start

Initially the basic sculpt was suppose to be the Rolling Stones mag with teeth slightly showing......I've had a few pm's requesting to still have that so I've spoken to digi to see if he can tweak it. As for the expression sculpt isn’t the same as serangs.



I still don’t know what the DX outfit will be? I wish there was someone capable of Woodstock. I approached Yunsil a while back and the answer was impossible. Apparently they had attempted it for a client and they couldn't do it. :dunno
At this point the only outfit I know is secured is the Tunic with stripe pants. :lecture

The singing expression is looking pretty good. However the regular sculpt definitely needs work. It looks very generic at the moment. Looking forward to seeing the final sculpts.

Godfather my friend, I have to disagree about the expressions. I have the Serang kit -- the singing expression has been with my painter for over a year now -- and it's not different enough (or perhaps accurate enough) to make me want to upgrade. I may look into other head possibilities. I have Serang's tunic plus a couple of similar variations I came across over the years I've wanted to make a Jimi. I also have his yellow shirt Monterey shirt. Both tops go with the red pants.

As for these starts, the neutral face is too square and not oblong enough, and Jimi had very large eyes. With the singing face it's the same, and oddly enough, Serang's, despite its exaggerated quality, comes closer to Jimi for me. I'll keep watching here, but I doubt I'll be in for the full figure. I'll ask Denny about the pants, though -- they would give me two full changes for Jimi and would also work for a Brian Jones custom!

I really appreciate the input bud. The expression sculpt isn't the same as Serang I also own Serangs sculpts, the sculpt he did has both set's of teeth showing and is based off Montrey however what we've gone for is based off the tunic picture below. :lecture The Expression sculpt is DX anyway so there's always full set option.

I've welcome criticism because I myself am not keen on the neutral maybe because it's still a progress? He will be changing the expression slightly to match the cover of rolling stones also shown below. As for the eyes I don't think Hendrix's eyes were crazy big... I do however feel it needs work so maybe with some tweaks it can bring out the likeness.

I do agree that the WIP pictures are too squared and not elongated enough. I know it is just the beginning, look forward to more progress.
