Re: Demon's Head Begins headsculpt by sinag55 - Accepting Payment
First off, thanks to those who purchased this piece. You don't know what your trust means for an unknown craftsman like me. I'd also like to thank spawnknight for all his help and encouraging me to sharing the sculpt with you freaks.
I believe that some of you have already received your sculpts and the others are on the way. I'd like to share how I bashed mine to help you build yours.
1. Body: I used a knockoff body that I’m pretty sure is similar to HT’s Narrow body.
2. Ankle Extenders: Neeson is around 6’4, so he should be taller than Bats and the rest of the cast. I didn’t find any ankle pegs locally so what I did is just extended the ankles by about half an inch using epoxy putty. If you don’t want to destroy your body like I did, I suggest you find a pair of ankle extenders. Or you can extend it using
this method.
3. Suit: I used Zytoys black suit.
Here’s one from HK. Quality is great for its price.
4. Shirt: I just dyed the Zytoys suit black. Unfortunately, the threads and buttons will remain white after dyeing. You have to paint that. Honestly, I haven’t gotten around to painting mine so I don’t know what paint to recommend.
5. Scarf: Mine is only a placeholder until I find the right color. What I used is… uhm… black women’s underwear we found in a local thrift shop. Just make sure that it is thin and heavy and the weave is small. Mine is cut 2x13 inches.
6. Gloves: I’m using the DX09 gloves. It’s really up to you what to use. I used this because it’s the only pair available for me at the moment. You have to choose the right size though. I bought the DX Indy gloved hands that I planned on painting black but it’s too big.
7. Shoes and socks: I used
HT Coulson’s. Neeson’s shoes are barely seen in the movie, but from what I observed in the party scene [around the time his minions start burning down the manor] and the train fight scene, I believe this is pretty accurate.
8. Cane and sword: This excellent piece of craftsmanship is made by 4DefCon and shared to us by Falconer.
9. Green gem: I got this free from 4DefCon. To attach it to the tie, I put some superglue underneat the gem, then stuck some flower wire over it. I cut the wire and punched it throughthe tie. I didn’t want to glue it directly to the tie because I’m afraid to make a mess with the glue.
10. Futzing the suit [shoulders]: I placed some tissue paper on top of his shoulders. I found that on the body I used, the shoulders are too low and too narrow. I also pinch it up to make the shoulder wider and higher.
11. Futzing the suit [torso]: I also placed some tissue paper because I don’t like that the suit narrows towards the bottom. I also added some on his upper back to add some volume.
12. Futzing the suit [pants]: I also pulled down his pants a little so that the way the bottom of the pants lay on the shoes looks just right.
Thanks again
