Didn't a 1/6th company pick up this license and had prototypes for display? Might be worth looking at these sculpts as replacements. BBI is a monster. Wow his work is amazing, always.

I am definitely interested at the painted head sculpts for all 3 characters, but I need to see what will be offer for the clothing set in order to determine.

Yeah I know about the licensed offerings to be coming. But when they will be released and how good they will be is no guarantee nor where they will be available too... besides our board being affiliated to SS has enough place for SS licenses being offered as unlicensed customs... simply because boardies feel the customs are of higher quality and will give a better representation/justice to their expectations.

So might as well give it a shot and see how they turn out...

Id love to have a similar situation with Sherlock because I personally have little faith in BCS delivering something upto my expectations.

I know that... but mass producing them and with BCS' last releases of the 11th Dr and the Amy Pond fiasco sculpts alone dont make a figure. Besides once mass produced they will not have that kind of detail nor the paint work they deserve.

Companies like EB and HT are the only ones who can probably replicate Trevo'r sculpt and do it justice in mass productions. Other companies... not so...

Possibly putting aside some of the facial texture, SSC has done the sculpts justice, particularly with the statues, but also with 1/6 work for the most part. . .paint work, on the other hand.

Satues are resin... so they take his sculpt detail better, but when it comes to replicating them in the plastic 1/6 sculpts... SSC has had quite a lot of fails and paintwork... lets not get into that.

I think the 1/6 stuff often does lose detail (though Hot Toys isn't immune from this as well, as we've seen more and more of recently), but you often see Grove sculpts without any deformation that look terrific when repainted. Clearly they don't invest as much in production as HT and EB though, I agree with you.

If sideshow can make the production figures look as good as the protos I saw at comic con this year, they will have improved a lot in quality and be getting closer to HT quality.

With a legit company having the license this project may need to disappear. If Fewture solicits their 1/6 we will support the license holder and have to suppress solicitation of bootleg versions.

Well will sale of the figures as kits (clothing/head sculpts separate etc etc) be considered a violation too?
