Ahh, that looks very good. I could tell it was a good sculpt, I just wasn't seeing any likeness in the painted version.

Your paintjob has some variation in the skintone that adds a realism that the MJ paintjob lacks.

With mj paint, as good as it is, i didn't see indy. In your paintjob, it is a whole different story! Great paintjob. Do you take commissions? I'm not big on cash right now, but if i do decide to get the mj sculpt, i really love your paintjob!

I don't think the run has ended, but the trick is to have MJ reply to you. I've tried two different emails and Facebook but no reply so far.

I'm trying to do things the right way and legally, but if he doesn't reply, I guess I won't have another choice but to recast my own if I want a second one...

8bit has a fantastic paint up right there, but you guys aren't giving the mj paint up enough credit

It's the hat that's messing things up and in all the shots it covers up a lot of the face which is where the likeness shines.

Shots of the mj head without the hat would induce oohing and aahing too. It makes me realize that the hat needs to be replaced even though I don't like to admit it since the sculpt cost a small fortune.

As for MJ not replying just give him a few days, he always does and he always comes through. It's not an ego thing.

thanks fellas, much like the inigou versus mj sculpt debate - it all comes down to personal preference. the reality is that we're all discussing the merits and minor drawbacks of fantastic sculpts from talented persons. i can't imagine the hobby being in a much better place than this - the quality of both sculpts is awe-inspiring

now i just have to make a final decision on which head to use for my dad's custom indy (decisions, decisions) :duff

edit: i'm very excited to see and own (in the future) inigou's replacement hat for MJ indy

Yes, MJ's hat clearly needs to be replaced unfortunately. But such a wonderful sculpt and expression. I almost see an older Ford in MJ's though; more weathered, nose more crooked. Inigou's reads like a much younger Ford.

Inigou did post that MJ gave him the OK to do a new hat to fit. So a third sculpt: MJ face with Inigou hat!


As much as I'd hate to cover it up, MJ's head would make an awesome Arab Disguise Indy with the HT gear. That facial expression is perfect for watching the Staff of Ra light up.

I love the smirk too. I look past any other issues when I see that smirk.
