Re: [FRwL custom] HS "Tech Noir" (2 versions) - START SALES!!!

A-dev, is it possible to send me the pictures you want to post, and I'll do it? I'm sure Ulli wants to get this all taken care of.

Those pics were working earlier today when I posted them, I truly don't know what the hell is going on. I will try again and if it fails I'll PM you to see if you have better luck.

I'm still trying to figure out how to make the other side look. It has been more difficult than I thought because it all has to make some kind of sense from the different viewing angles knowing that on the 3D model what you do from one angle affects all others.

I have there is photos that you published today) there is no need to publish re -) but full face not quite staunch. in the pictures you attached as Referans - it is made from the bottom up and apply it to our front view is incorrect)

Sorry, I forgot to mention that. In the front view picture only the hair was important. I didn't seem to have a shot of the final version A or B that was big enough to work with so I just used a previous version. The intention was only to showcase a changed hairstyle. Likewise the movie picture I used as reference, I was just showing how the hair looked in that scene.

I understand that hair should be more square. Now they are rounded) and we will correct it. but not as much as you showed) give me a little time)

No problem, I don't need you to rush even if it seems like I am rushing. I'm only rushing so as to get my ideas out there so that you can see them in enough time to either use them or not.

Re: [FRwL custom] HS "Tech Noir" (2 versions) - START SALES!!!

Fingers and toes crossed now.

Re: [FRwL custom] HS "Tech Noir" (2 versions) - START SALES!!!

The Tech Noir look doesn't always look exactly the same for the entire duration that he has this longer hair in the movie. Myself and my trusted advisor (I feel I shouldn't take credit for everything so I want to note I've had help) noticed that in the actual Tech Noir nightclub his hair is flatter and tighter to his head on the top than it is in earlier scenes.

Therefore I've named 2 options - ''Wrong Connor murder scene'' and - ''Nightclub scene''. I don't expect Ullipekka to do both. I'm only trying to show that there seems to be two variations of this look and either one would be acceptable as a final sculpt.

''Wrong Connor murder scene''

Other pics that probably qualify as being under the ''Wrong Connor murder scene'', even though they are from other scenes, might be

Re: [FRwL custom] HS "Tech Noir" (2 versions) - START SALES!!!

So I've drawn up 2 options based on the above. These are the drawings I'm most happy with. In some cases they won't be significantly different than what I've posted before but if there is a big difference that might need to be pointed out I will do so.

Also bear in mind, for front view I'm still using one of the previous faces because those were the size of picture that was easier to work on - only the hair is of interest.

''Wrong Connor scene''

OR with thicker sides

I also have a middle-state for the sides. Here's a comparison:

And my idea of a diagonal view:

''Nightclub scene''

and a middle state for the sides is included here:

Hard to know how the front and sides will effect eachother in 3D without actually having the 3D program myself but here's my best drawings of the 2 sides:

Again the sideviews are the same original image (of Arnie's right side) which I flipped to work on the left side of the hair. I believe the sculpt needs to add back material behind his chin and give him a bit more 'under' jawline - ideally giving his jaw the shape that I have shadowed in.

And finally

If the fringe is more pulled back:

Well, your efforts are to be applauded, a-dev. I will have to say though, that I'm surprised that you and the nameless one didn't notice the differences in the hair. I was going to mention that a few days ago when you were nitpicking about little bits of hair around the ears. Back when I was fussing with my life size, I knew I just had to settle for the look, rather than something that matched a frame or two in the movie.

Re: [FRwL custom] HS "Tech Noir" (2 versions) - START SALES!!!

The difference is your lifesize T-800 has real hair that can be adjusted at will much like a real person, you could even cut it if you wanted. A sculpt is a different story.

However, the point of showing 2 options is to say that if it looked like either of those it'll look good.

I agree with that. I was just pointing out that something close would have been acceptable for me.

Thanks Ullipekka

I'm getting the impression you're concerned I won't be happy with anything that doesn't look exactly like I've drawn it. Well, to some extent that's not unfounded - for me, ideally it would look exactly like I have drawn it in either one of those versions. I was quite deliberate about everything, there didn't seem any point in half-assing my own vision of what it should look like.

I realize I can't expect someone else to do exactly what I did for one of 2 reasons (or both) - A) it might not be doable at all - I might have failed to anticipate how a certain shape from one angle makes another angle look different than what I have separately drawn for that angle. Without a 3D program myself I can't see what's happening there. And B) personal choice - quite simply, it's not my sculpt. Ullipekka might disagree with some things.

I recognize these facts. So all we can do is see what he comes up with. Two distinct possibilities with the hair gives some scope for us meeting in the middle hopefully - as long as headshape, the direction in which hair was flowing and that jawline/neck cut-off are corrected - as those are the fundamentals that I think we all agree were wrong and made the printed sculpt look strange.

Another great shot of Arnie, I actually didn't have this one when doing my mods but I'm still satisfied enough that I got this side right

No problem Ulli. Whatever it takes to get it right.

Re: [FRwL custom] HS "Tech Noir" (2 versions) - START SALES!!!

Hi guys-if it's OK, then we'll draw the hair in more detail and will be ready for printing.
What you say)?

Re: [FRwL custom] HS "Tech Noir" (2 versions) - START SALES!!!

I'm thinking that the wave on the left side of his face is too high. Should be a little flatter. I'm ok with everything else. I know a-dev may have more to say.
