Same opinion.Eyes need some changes.But it's impresive...wow!

Re: **HUGE UPDATE**[Masterworks]-Inspector .44 **PAINTED PICS ADDED**

-The top of the forehead from the front angle looks a bit too squished it needs to be thinner, and a bit taller.

-The eyes need more of a squint.

-The bottom of the mouth under his lip bulges out a bit too much

- His bottom lip needs to be thinner.

-The paintwork is also a bit too yellow, the skin needs more red tones

While we appreciate all the constructive critiques, I think it's important to remember a few things. That image of Clint served as inspiration for the sculpt, but the sculpt isn't intended to be an exact reproduction. That's a single frame that represents one angle, and I think that may be why the proportions of the forehead may seem different. As far as the squint goes, I think it's a valid criticism, but I also think that adressing it comes with a trade-off. These pics are blown up to give you a good idea of what it looks like close-up, but too much of a squint could, potentially, lead to the appearance of his eyes being closed, or, even, black, for that matter, as, the smaller the surface of the eyeball, the more the shadows of the eyelids can envelope.

I think that, for that photo, you're correct about the skin tone, but I believe lighting plays a part, as well. The one that I am curious about is the bottom lip, though. I do agree that it looks a little too full, but, if you look at the first pic, I worry that adressing it may make it too thin. I think the bottom of the mouth and the bottom lip go hand in hand, though, and I question whether adressing one wouldn't also impact the other.

Re: **UPDATED**[Masterworks]-Inspector .44

Well, do ya, punk?

Yes i do! Thanks so much for the pics dude! Im very impressed with this sculpt, easily the best likeness of clint! Im actually blown away!
Some of the constructive criticism I agree with, but to be honest I think your right , having it blown up and magnified on screen is probably the reason.

Re: **HUGE UPDATE**[Masterworks]-Inspector .44 **PAINTED PICS ADDED**

Re: **HUGE UPDATE**[Masterworks]-Inspector .44 **PAINTED PICS ADDED**

While I don't think it's perfect, I do wonder if it isn't good enough to be sold as-is, without an attempt at improving the sculpt that may accidentally have the effect of making it worse. Certainly a better likeness than many Hot Toys figures get as it is.

And particularly, I would agree with batfan's suggestion that you not go too overboard trying to replicate the look from that one screen grab. You've got lighting/shadow and angles that could be deceptive when trying to do a 3-D replication of an actor there.

I totally agree, but in the same aspect we all strive for perfection . I want my William Shatner to look like William Shatner. When you spend $400-$1000 on a custom figure I should be able to say yeah that is character X, not it kind of looks like him in a different angle or light.

A perfect example is HT's Ichabod Crane and Han Solo , they looks nothing like Johnny Depp and remotely like Mr. Ford I don't care what angle or lighting you put them in. I can justify the Harrison Ford due to the character being so popular and the price tag on a "okay " sculpt. I wouldn't drop a dime on the Ichabod Crane. I just think Mr. Harry just needs a little bit of work as of right now the boards ate half-and-half and when you're selling something do you want the majority happy.

I think you raise another great point, man. Addressing the stuff could have an adverse effect, and it could be premature. As someone who's seen photos of the unpainted sculpt from various angles, I truly believe that it's one of the best Eastwood likenesses out there. I think there are a lot of foreign elements when you're talking about sculpt pics like this, from the lighting to shadows and lens distortion, and whathaveyou, and some of the criticism may also be premature. I also think that it's important to remember that this is only a piece of a bigger figure. I think we tend to focus on things we otherwise wouldn't really notice when it's a head on a stick. Visualize the headsculpt on a complete figure, with the suit, and the gun drawn, etc.

Yes but I would also argue if the sculpt is off, it doesnt matter how great the rest of the figure is. People will focus on the sculpt its the most important part of the figure. And since the painted proto has been shown this seems to be the final sculpt. If they were going to improve the sculpt and wanted opinions on it, it would've been show unpainted first.

The Cowboy sculpt was a phenomenal hit, was there any plans to just rework that sculpt minus the beard some wrinkles and some new hair it would've been dead on

The point I'm trying to make is that we tend to amplify things when we're looking at the sculpt by itself, and not the finished figure. The squint, for example, is a common complaint, but I have to ask, is it because the eyes don't look like Eastwood's, or because they don't look like that picture? I mean, gido posted an image a few pages back of Eastwood, and the eyes look like the sculpts, but they aren't squinting quite as much as in the screencap you posted.

As I said, though, this is supposed to be a representation of both Eastwood and the character, so, there are trade-offs to ensure that balance is met. I'll be honest when I say that, front on, I agree with you that the bottom of the lip does seem a bit too full. Like everyone else, I saw the painted sculpt minutes before I posted them here, so, I didn't have much time to gather my thoughts, but, like I said, I do think that there are different factors, like lens distortion, lighting, and angles, and I'd like to see more of it painted before I come to any definite conclusions.
