How do you go about futzing clothes on a custom figure to make them not look like dolls? It seems with hot toys figures, like the new bruce wayne for example, his shirt and jacket fit very tightly around his arms and neck. It seems that with most custom figures the clothing seems very puffy and doll like. Do you use a small iron to flatten the clothing to the figure? I was told others soak the clothes in water then form them to the figure to get a better fit. Do these suggestions work? Any others?
What you're talking about is what most refer to as "water treating" and that works for certain situations. To my knowledge they don't make an iron suitable for 1/6 stuff but there are small hand held steamers out there with different attachments that work good for getting out wrinkles or making collars sit better.
As far as that puffy, doll like, frumpy look that you're talking about, I think that you see that more with bashes than customs. There are bashes out there where people use some of the less expensive outfits that are available and those usually have the look that you're referring to. True custom outfits usually don't because they are normally tailor made for a specific body so their fit is as good as it gets. The same as Hot Toys and several cases, even better.
