Re: Iris - Eleven Outfit Collecting Deposits

Updated first post with deposit info and final price. I’ve asked that the socks be tailored to the ankle and a hole be placed on bottom to allow the foot peg to sit in the shoe. Sooner we get deposits the sooner she will start. I will ship my Asmus body to Iris once the deposits are in.

Also is anyone interested in the weathering? If so please send me more detailed images if possible to reassure accuracy.

Re: Iris - Eleven Outfit Collecting Deposits

Can we have the socks go higher than the ankle to match the character's outfit in the show? Thanks.

Yes of course! I’m thinking they should raise to the height in the image below. Or should we take them to cover the knee joint on the body? Thoughts everyone?

Re: Iris - Eleven Outfit Collecting Deposits

The Asmus body comes with ankle extenders - 2 of them - so we can get a proper height. I agree about the skin texture, but you can always dullcote the body.

Re: Iris - Eleven Outfit Collecting Deposits

I wonder if the clothes will also fit the Star Ace body? I agree with those that said it's a better choice than Asmus.
Can someone who has both bodies compare the sizing?

Re: Iris - Eleven Outfit Collecting Deposits

The socks appear in the series to stop just about an inch or so below the knees.

Here is another thought. Does anyone want to have her blonde wig made? Thanks.

Re: Iris - Eleven Outfit Collecting Deposits

Been following this thread out of interest, but I’m down for a blonde wig accessory Elgreco. I already have an outfit by Elena Kuts.

Re: Iris - Eleven Outfit Collecting Deposits

On the topic of the body, I had both, and I feel the Asmus teen body is much inferior to the Star Ace’s body. The quality of the plastic and joints on the Asmus looks... subpar (for lack of a better term). I would believe if it’s tailored to the Asmus and people switched or chose to use the Star Ace, it would be too short. Very noticeable in height difference. For the socks I used the casual Hermione for the body and used the stockings. I cut it so it would sit right below the bend at the knee and painted in the stripes.

That's a concern. I have no desire to use the Asmus body.
I'm sure there are some other comparison pics but this is the only one I found.

Re: Iris - Eleven Outfit Collecting Deposits

StarAce has the better body but availability is the issue here. There aren't any Hermione bodies available unless you want to buy the full figure at nearly two hundred a pop. If Caine could pull of a custom body for a hundred or less that would be great but until then asmus it is.

Re: Iris - Eleven Outfit Collecting Deposits

It wasn't that long ago you could find casual hermione for 90 shipped. Guess those dried up. Harry, Ron and Draco full figures can still be found for less than $100 shipped and they're the same body as Hermione expect for the knee joints. I myself have a couple Star ace bodies, one of which I was going to use for this. I'm worried about a bobble headed dwarf sized 11.

Millie Brown is listed as being 5' 3" (now, but the first season which this outfit is from she was likely shorter) If we say Millie was more like 5' in the first season, that translates to just under 10"

The Asmus body, with the leg extenders, is 8.5"(with a sculpt) - so short. I haven't dissected it to see if the torso could be easily extended but I think adding too much more length to the legs is going to look strange(r?). Fudging it to 9.25 - 9.5" would probably look ok. The sneakers will add maybe a 1/4" height so an inch or so needs to be made up somewhere if you want more accuracy.

Asmus shows it at 8.5" without the sculpt, but unless this is another version that the one I have, it's 8.5 with the sculpt. It's also showing as sold out currently.

Re: Iris - Eleven Outfit Collecting Deposits

A little searching and I see over 20 Star Ace teen Potter bodies (boxed figures with head, clothing and accessories) for $90-100 shipped and the Asmus for $70-80 shipped. Seems worth the extra $10-20 to me for a better scaled, better quality body that the headsculpt was designed to fit (not to mention the accessories you could choose to sell off or not).

$70-80 is for the Laura set - with clothes and sculpt. Asmus WAS selling just the body for $25.

Good find! I was also just thinking, does the Star Ace Hermione have a small bust? Or no bust? If not, then I think one could pass with getting Ron/Harry for cheaper if their bodies and height are the same as the Hermione’s. I would believe they are.

Re: Iris - Eleven Outfit Collecting Deposits

The SA bust is maybe a mm or 2 more pronounced than the male version, hardly at all, not enough to show once clothed.

I can't find anyone selling just the body for either so I went with the best prices for each I could find today. Spending $250+ for custom clothing but cheaping out on a base body that is too small and so so quality is a judgement call I suppose.
