I think it was the gollum ones that really sent it downhill. Thankfully Jnix was able to weed through it all and get to the important bits.

You're a good man Qui Gon - I very much appreciate your kind words. But honestly, the amount of hostility I received for doing these has simply not been worth it.

I'm really glad it has given Jnix a feeling for what people want, but after the amount of time and effort I put into those - only then to be told they're "annoying" "frustrating" "overkill" "bloody annoying" "not adding any value" "tedious" that there is no point, that I'm "passive aggressive" and "vulgar times..."

Not much fun...

anyone posting photoshop is just trying to help us all get the best sculpt possible. so thanks to everyones input . i think we are all excited and some probably afraid we will scare jnix off lol. jnix is a cool guy with a lot of respect for us and his work. im sure he will stick around love luke and cant wait to see whats next already!

I think it's worth bearing in mind that some members have witnessed other extremely talented artists in the past be put off this forum to the point of no return due to the photoshops and excessive nature of posts and what not. And they are probably afraid of that happening again. Which is understandable.

But then I also agree with people photoshopping, as sometimes it really does help, a member with a fresh set of eyes can tweak it and you think 'I'd have never noticed that'. The asmus toys Legolas thread is a great example of this. So I'd say photoshops are welcome too.

I think it's just finding the balance.

But anyway as hydeous said it was the silly photoshops that seemsed to cause most offence.

Anyway - I think this sculpt kicks ass! If it was a ROTJ aversion I'd be on it like a tramp on chips. Amazing work. Jnix did it again.

Patty said it best, I agree sometimes it helps, after all that's what got us the revisions so I support it!

But then it got way way overkill...

And the stupidest part about the whole thing is that it gets to the point when they are critiquing a photo and not a sculpt. a three percent difference for eye color or pupil size is not going to matter when the sculpt is in three dimensions under different light and scaled properly

I honestly don't disagree with any of this, but just a bit of perspective. How difficult is it to simply scroll past a few superfluous posts (or even superfluous pages) you don't think add much value and then get on with life?

No one is getting injured here, and the artists we're so anxious to protect, have a tremendous vehicle through our forum from which to promote their work which costs them nothing except a little patience at times.

Disrespect and Vulgarity is different, but those can be separated from just having a bit of fun... which is why we're all here.

I'm equally concerned at the idea of putting off folks like Mandible, who put in a lot of work to help us visualize the tweaks that help these skilled individuals get that much closer to a great release (at least when you're working with a pro like Jnix), by folks who seem obsessed with policing this thread.

I just don't think its that heavy a lift to ask people to put up with or ignore posts they don't like on an internet thread (and I'm sure THIS post qualifies for some of you :rotfl)!

Anyway, Jnix is awesome, love his work, can't WAIT for this to come home!

However as the creator of a couple of the "silly photoshops", I would like to apologise to jnix if I appeared disrespectful.
Was simply having a bit of fun with the new Photoshop liquefy functions. Have nothing but respect for him and his talent.
