Crud. And mine already shipped. No clue what I'm gonna do. Maybe the guy who'll be painting mine has some tools, but I really don't know.

I was hoping to simply pop the Hot Toys head off and then put the Jnix sculpt on in its place. I had no idea that neck adapters and dremeling would be required. Hope Jnix can put our minds at ease.
Such an awesome sculpt and I definitely wouldn't trust myself to do the work either!

Yeah I would not have a clue how to do any of these things. Can someone post a link to the exact adapter or whatever I actually need to fit this head on the Hot Toys body. Also if the hole could be fixed on mine before painting I would pay some extra for it. This cost way too much for me to trust myself.

This definitely needs to be addressed. I don't think anyone was expecting the need for additional work/customization on these :(

Neck adaptors I'm used to. That's standard stuff with customs. Dremeling, no.

For an alternate solution, you could just put some Blu-Tack or some other reusable adhesive putty inside the head instead of the actual insert. It would basically make a sticky head adapter.

That would get people by, but for the quality of the sculpt/paint and price of the whole package (HT figure included) it should be plug & play.

What's a dremel? A drill of some kind?

I just assumed these would fit on without any hassle.

Here it is on the Hot Toys Han body.

Looks phenomenal!

This is not the first painted custom sculpt Jnix has done. I'm confident he'll have a solution for us. He probably just hasn't checked in recently to see these comments...

:rotfl

You sound like me. I know jack-diddly-squat about tools, and I'm clumsy as $#@*, so I'm in deep doodoo here.

Hi all,

I would like to say thank Gruff for sharing yours and informing.

Some of you seemed have problem with the depth of the neck. First of all, the width and depth are perfectly fitted on HT neck. I have already tested with the HT body.

one point you are worrying about is installing connector. Many of custom head sculpt collectors simply accommodate the hs using blu-tech. and some of them who want to install connector, drill it little more deeply and glue the connector as Gruff has done.
As my work is for custom hs, I can not make the connecting mechanism perfectly same to what HT`s and no skill. So it is needed your little effort. I also hope someone will share how to install neck connector for custom head sculpt to the body.

So here is my solution,

1. As the size of the hole is properly wide and deep, anyone who want simply blu-tech it, no problem.

2. Anyone wants to install the connector but no idea how to drill the hole, please send back me the hs, then I will drill it and send to you again. Please PM me for the shipping address and so on. Please be aware, I can`t offer you the connector.

3. From now, I will drill every hs deeper than before including painted hs which I am working on right now. If anybody doesn`t want to drill it deeper, please PM me not to do it.

Every time I hear your compliment and support, makes me happy and feel why I am doing this. I totally appreciate that. I sincerely hope you like my work and enjoy. Please understand that I can not accept every individual preference, however, I will try to do this as much as you like mostly. Thanks!

Jnix

Thanks Jnix! Those are good solutions. The head looks great in Gruff's pictures. I can't wait to see more as people get them in. As for the head adapter, I decided to buy the 3 pack on onesixthkit.com since it wasn't much more than buying just one on eBay. It is always good to have a few spare parts.

I would like to second the comments above - Thank you! Your communication is excellent and the work you're putting into the project is amazing! Really looking forward to mine arriving.
