Re: Monty productions: Candyman & Helper calling for Painting payments!

:slap

:lol

But wait, I saw the original movie movie when it came out in 1971....

Yup you win! I had to experience the film on VHS as a kid. I actually think I read something about it not even doing well in the box office back then. i cannot even remember the first time I watched it, all I know is I watched it incessantly. It is safe to say that I know most of it by heart at this point.

Re: Monty productions: Candyman & Helper calling for Painting payments!

I was not all that old when I saw it the first time it came out - in fact young enough that some of the scenes freaked me out. Actually the boat ride through tunnel still freaks me out. :lol

Re: Monty productions: Candyman & Helper calling for Painting payments!

I didn't see the film till 1999 I'm probably the youngest here :rotfl

Jon another intresting fact is the film was paid for partly by Quacker Oats the cereal company who planned on making the wonka bar, the bar had to be recalled but the movie done well.

Speaking of the boat ride did anyone notice after me gloop goes there is only enough seats for the 4 children and their family? :rotfl
Strange scene but same time kindda shows how crazy this wonka dude is. :rotfl

Re: Monty productions: Candyman & Helper calling for Painting payments!

I never noticed that!

There is no two ways about it. This movie is absolutely sick and twisted lol. Being burned in the fudge room, turned into a blueberry, thrown into the garbage incinerator, and shrunken. Totally messed up haha. At least the the end Wonka assured us that they would be completely restored to their normal, terrible old selves.

This movie had an undeniably creepy vibe to it. Maybe its why I turned out so well behaved? Gene wilder had a perfect balance of being terrifying and being someone you wanted to hug. That is something that is completely missing in the Tim Burton remake.

As much as I love many of Burton's movies, I could never bring myself to watch his Wonka remake.

Jon, who was burned in the fudge room?I saw this on tv, on Thanksgiving, when it first came out. We went to a family friends house for dinner and it happened to be on. I ate way too much that night, and vomited the second my parents pulled up in front of our house. I think I was about 7. I have always been freaked out about the boat ride, those images are very disturbing. Needless to say it was a very memorable night.

Augustus did. His mom says "You boiled him up I know it!" I should have said boiled and not burned... But hey it's the same end result right? Haha

Just aswell the only thing good about that movie was the candy bars that came out.
I really didn't like the Burton version it felt very bland and the were weak .... Worst part was the ompa was played by the same guy.

I thought you meant that he got burned by something. Must have been the directors cut. Now I know what you meant.

I see people talk about customs fees, what country has to pay those? I am just asking for curiousity sake. Do packages get held somewhere to be paid out? And does it happen on all international shipments?

I am pumped that the outfits are out in the wild! I can't wait to finally have this set.

Re: Monty productions: Candyman & Helper calling for Painting payments!

Jon, there shouldn't be any customs fees here in the USA.

You shouldn't get customs bud, UK is harsh on importing stuff they like too squeeze us for money.
I'm just glad that it's almost finished :)

Oh no I am well aware. I was asking informationally because I hear about fees a lot and I am curious what it entails in other countries. It is something I hear a lot about. I get international packages constantly so I know I don't have fees haha. I just have a mailman who is super curious why I get so many little packages from China lol.

Haha think yourself lucky man, the import fees for these outfits weren't bad £30 so about $60 worst one was my Serangs hendrix even the vaule was marked low I got stung a whooping £85...... Highest I've ever paid also. Funniest part is sometimes they try charge you an extra £12 for delivery :rotfl

On a lighter note I will get round to inboxing people shipping prices and how they want theirs shipped :)
