Re: Monty productions pee wee: Sculpt by MG2065 and clothes by GeeWhizz

I sent Gary a pm to see if he had any unpainted bike kits left. Probably a long shot but worth a try. Does anyone know the base bike he used? I see some on ebay that look close...

Using the base bike is the best way to go! Otherwise this would be crazy complex to put together. I am definitely interested in a bike.

Put me on the list please. Thanks!

That was such a beatiful project, I even considered getting one of those even though I had no Pee-Wee. It would be awesome if we were able to get those made again.

A bike would be awesome--though I'm sure expensive as well. I'd like the chance to get one though since I missed out on the other one.

if RObbie does the bike this will come to be another grail ...:)

Re: Monty productions pee wee: Sculpt by MG2065 and clothes by GeeWhizz

In hindsight, I would have bought one of those bikes, but money was a bit tighter for me then.

No matter who does the bike… if it is from scratch the prices would be absolutely insane on it. Thats why accessorizing a base bike makes a ton of sense. Were any bikes scratch built before? Or were they the ones built on a base model?

Re: Monty productions pee wee: Sculpt by MG2065 and clothes by GeeWhizz

Gary's were made on the base bike in the pic I linked to earlier. However, DarthMagnus had one scratch built by Rainman. It probably cost more than my car.

Fullmetal might be able to scratch build some, though I suspect they would also be pricey (on the order of $500+)

Re: Monty productions pee wee: Sculpt by MG2065 and clothes by GeeWhizz

Im pretty sure its the phantom Schwinn from xonex. I ordered a bike just now just in case. Gary got a whole bunch of them when he did the run. Finding them now may be a bit of a stretch.

I'm pretty sure even the Rainman bike was not scratch built. It utilized some parts from a manufactured bike.

Re: Monty productions pee wee: Sculpt by MG2065 and clothes by GeeWhizz

I think we just need resin pieces to fit over the base bike. Seems pretty easy if we use the stock bike.

Re: Monty productions pee wee: Sculpt by MG2065 and clothes by GeeWhizz

Seems like I recall Magnus posting some in-progress pics where Rainman was putting the frame together, but it could have been from an existing bike.

Re: Monty productions pee wee: Sculpt by MG2065 and clothes by GeeWhizz

The hardest part are the wheels. I could do the whole thing but it would be expensive. The more bolt on parts there are, the cheaper.

He may have done it all but I'll bet there was just heavy modding of an original.

Very interested!

I'm interested. One issue with the the Rainman one was that the body wasn't appropriate for the character IMO. Best if this is tailored for a slim body. Guy was pretty short and very skinny. And of course, someone needs to do a 1/6 scale Chairy.

Regarding the cereal, I think Corrose did one of those previously.

Never really cared for the Rainman figure... accessories and clothing were great, but body wasn't right and I felt the head was too old.

Re: Monty productions pee wee: Sculpt by MG2065 and clothes by GeeWhizz

A Full Metal bike would be stupid expensive, but on another level of awesome. And if we actually had a few people actually down for it, the price would come down some.

Re: Monty productions pee wee: Sculpt by MG2065 and clothes by GeeWhizz

Robbie - put me on the list. I'll take one. I like the idea of creating the pieces separately and fitting them onto the stock bike. I could try to sculpt those pieces and offer in a kit but probably way more accurate if you created in 3D software and then printed. If you need help with any of the pieces, like that little lion face on the front, I can help.

Re: Monty productions pee wee: Sculpt by MG2065 and clothes by GeeWhizz

I picked up the phantom bike last week aswell as the roadmaster when I thought I would partake in making my own Pee Wee bike but then I got married and had kids....so why did I get the phantom last week..?...well...I like Gary's but it missed a few points, not to say he didn't try to fulfill a demand that was there....but I wanted to try and upgrade it...NOW if Robbie throws his hat into the race...I will quickly send him my phantom for his use to make this a reality for all of us.....because lets face it...Robbie would kill it!!!!....if we can find the base bikes in some sort of bulk....would the pricing come down Robbie?....
