Re: The Golden Mr. Gert Fröbe and Harold Sakata

I'm so in! Put me on the list for both.

But after being disappointed by the lack of enthusiasm for the Roger Moore Yunsil outfit project, I can't imagine we'll get enough interest here. But please, please prove me wrong.

Oddjob coming with the hat too? I would think it must.

POLL:

I went for "neutral" on Oddjob since he's so impassive.... and "serious" for Goldfinger... but I'd also be happy with a smirking Goldfinger, though that kind of attitude is so subtle its sometimes hard to get a sculpt to read.

I would like to see Q and, maybe, first admiral M also.

I wish I collected just one thing so I could be in on this but alas with like 300 figures these two wouldnt make the cut

Re: The Golden Mr. Gert Fröbe and Harold Sakata

List updated! Thanks njlanman! :wave

No problem Raymond! Thanks for checking this thread out anyway. I would really love to have some side characters myself, but I do understand that these characters might not appeal to a lot of people. :)

Re: The Golden Mr. Gert Fröbe and Harold Sakata

It's likely the outfit for Auric poses the greatest problem.

The sculpt for Oddjob would be a much needed replacement for the Sideshow figure... as old as the figure is, the outfit can be serviceable.

For anyone considering an Auric Goldfinger bash but who may think his wardrobe is impossible to replicate, may I suggest that there are a couple options that are fairly simple:

1) his Fort Knox outfit -- a basic military outfit and, if you dare, a nice overcoat that you can dye a burnt orange/rust color:

2) his brown suit while traveling to Switzerland (although finding the right girth will be problematic):

Most of his other looks -- crazy Golf attire, brown silk dinner jacket with gold lapels, Auric Stud riding outfit -- will all take some ambitious work... or Yunsil.

I'll probably go with the Fort Knox look for Goldfinger. 1/6 Army uniforms aren't terribly difficult to find and there is a coat on eBay that while not perfect, looks to be of a similar style and material to what was used in the film and I think that it would be very suitable after some slight modifications, (such as removing the buttons and perhaps changing the color.) The over-sized nature of the coat should also make it easy to add bulk to the figure as needed which is something goldfinger needs. :)

Fort Knox overcoat is actually one of my favorite looks next to the riding outfit. That rust orange would really pop against Bond's gray suit and b/w Oddjob.

Re: The Golden Mr. Gert Fröbe and Harold Sakata

I really like the Fort Knox overcoat look as well. There are also so many good 1/6 coats available that it is definitely one of the easiest outfits to bash. :)

Re: The Golden Mr. Gert Fröbe and Harold Sakata

Im interested in Goldfinger!!!!! He is my favourite villain

Re: The Golden Mr. Gert Fröbe and Harold Sakata

YES ! ! !
I'm also in for both: Gert Fröbe and Harold Sakata.
Please put my name on the list for both sculpts.

Re: The Golden Mr. Gert Fröbe and Harold Sakata

This outfit (minus the belt) would work for Goldfinger's army disguise under his coat -- although you'd have to let it out in the back (cut open) so you could stuff him with the appropriate "girth"...

Re: The Golden Mr. Gert Fröbe and Harold Sakata

I was thinking of going that exact same route for my outfit. It really is one of the best options available!

For Goldfinger's expression it looks like we've got a three way tie going on right now. Out of curiosity what do people picture when they think of Goldfinger smirking or him serious?

Re: The Golden Mr. Gert Fröbe and Harold Sakata

I think that those two examples you posted are probably the best choices for his serious and smirking expressions as it's very clear what Goldfinger's demeanor is in both them.

Re: The Golden Mr. Gert Fröbe and Harold Sakata

Bump for love of Villains...

If Craig is out, we may not be seeing another Bond movie for about 4 years... so enjoy the past (they'll never really top the good ol' Bonds).
