I finally got the chance to see Spectre after it came out on disc, and I thought that it was very enjoyable. It definitely wasn't as good as some of Craig's other Bond outings, but it was still a really solid flick in its own right. Although, I'll be honest and say that there has never been a Bond movie I haven't liked! :lolBump for another pass through the crowd...
Did Spectre really kill all excitement for Bond? I mean it was bad but it wasn't that bad. It wasn't Moonraker.
Although, I'll be honest and say that there has never been a Bond movie I haven't liked! :lol
Moonraker is hard for me to watch because it was such a disappointment for me as a child. But then Octopussy came along. :lol
Of course let's not forget Tomorrow Never Dies (even if it has one of the BEST Bond scores ever) and Quantum of Solace.
I'm surprised you didn't mention Die Another Day. Although, I admit I have a soft spot for all Bond movies, even the over-the-top films like Moonraker and the hot mess that is Die Another Day. Mindless entertainment has its place.
You know, I really do enjoy Craig as Bond, but I think that the films have lost some of their old magic since they've become more down to earth. The villains in particular just don't seem as grand or as menacing as they used to be, and 50 years down the road I don't think that they'll be remembered as much as these classic villains such as Goldfinger or Oddjob have been.
