Re: The Golden Mr. Gert Fröbe and Harold Sakata

If I wasn't so poor right now I'd be all over this :(

Re: Goldfinger (Gert Fröbe) and Oddjob (Harold Sakata) Headsculpts

Bump for another pass through the crowd...

Did Spectre really kill all excitement for Bond? I mean it was bad but it wasn't that bad. It wasn't Moonraker. :)

List updated! Thanks 2000man! :)

I finally got the chance to see Spectre after it came out on disc, and I thought that it was very enjoyable. It definitely wasn't as good as some of Craig's other Bond outings, but it was still a really solid flick in its own right. Although, I'll be honest and say that there has never been a Bond movie I haven't liked! :lol

Moonraker is hard for me to watch because it was such a disappointment for me as a child. But then Octopussy came along. :lol

Of course let's not forget Tomorrow Never Dies (even if it has one of the BEST Bond scores ever) and Quantum of Solace.

Re: Goldfinger (Gert Fröbe) and Oddjob (Harold Sakata) Headsculpts

Put me down for these guys. I'd vote on expressions, but I can't decide.

Hopefully these get enough interest because I'd love to have more Bond villains. Granted, many Bond villains are throwaway baddies that aren't very interesting, but if I were to make a short list, I'd say Jaws, Dr. No, Scaramanga, and, because I like Sean Bean, Alec Trevelyan. Bond girls would be equally as awesome. I've been dying to have a figure of Vesper Lynd in her purple, low-cut Casino Royale gown and almost commissioned one a few years ago, but female characters get little attention among customizers other than SculptorRC, who did Vesper, but not the version I wanted.

I'm surprised you didn't mention Die Another Day. Although, I admit I have a soft spot for all Bond movies, even the over-the-top films like Moonraker and the hot mess that is Die Another Day. Mindless entertainment has its place.

One more! Thank you! That much closer to this happening.

And I agree -- I'd love to see all of those made, but right now we're struggling to get the King of all Bond villains made so the others may be tough.

I almost put Die Another Day in that category -- but I'm so dismissive of Brosnan's Bond that I rarely count him (or Dalton). That said, in hindsight, Goldeneye was one of the better Bonds to come along. As for DAD, I actually kind of like it in some weird way -- more like love/hate. I think it works for me the way Moonraker works for other people -- its so goofy and over-the-top with crazy casting, a crazy ice palace, surfing a tidal wave, laser in space again, an albino Asian dude with diamonds in his face, and probably the best car (that green jag) since the Lotus. It's sheer Bond madness.

Re: Goldfinger (Gert Fröbe) and Oddjob (Harold Sakata) Headsculpts

List updated! Thanks Rydeck! :)

Like I said previously I do enjoy all of the Bond films, and I really did like Moonraker. It was over the top good fun, and I thought that it had some really brilliant darker scenes as well (Such as the dog chase scene).

You know, I really do enjoy Craig as Bond, but I think that the films have lost some of their old magic since they've become more down to earth. The villains in particular just don't seem as grand or as menacing as they used to be, and 50 years down the road I don't think that they'll be remembered as much as these classic villains such as Goldfinger or Oddjob have been.

Can't beat the old bad guys. They're just too much fun. They tried with Bandera but he just didn't have that certain something (likely its because he said he didn't want to play a villain). They need to get someone like Anthony Hopkins to play Goldfinger in a new update, or someone with good presence. It's a real shame that Alan Rickman never got a chance to play a Bond villain.
