How funny, fresh and original would this look on the shelf. I would love for this to be made, and will probably be campaigning hard for this one in the future!

:lol:lol i'd actually buy this. wonder if he'd consider a limited edition of 2. coz i'm pretty sure it's just you and me! :rotfl

maybe a 2 pack with the great yoghurt.

Lol! I'm pretty sure there's more than 2 spaceballs fans (No pun intended). The movie was a classic and I'd definately pay for a DX Dark Helmet and Yogurt set. Yogurt can even be made like the Ommpa Loompa non posable, but that sculpt would be amazing. Plus it seems worthy of Rainman work, given the technical work on the helmet and costume.

well if it gets made, then i'm all for it. but right now it's filed in my brain alongside "date with salma hayek", "real life jurassic park" and "thousand foot reese's cup" - nice ideas that are unlikely to ever happen.

I'd spend $1500+ on it! Have you ever seen Spaceballs? You actually don't think that Having a Dark Helmet on your shelf won't be Original to say the least?

So without general 'wishlisting', you two would actually spend between $800 and $1000 on that? :dunno

i think i actually might. spaceballs was one of my favourite comedies growing up, and i still love the dark helmet character. because of the size and the outfit it would be a difficult figure to make and it would stand out.

i'd rather have some of the other suggestions first, like wyatt earp and doc holliday from tombstone, raoul duke, lost boys david or pee wee herman, but if dark helmet got made, i'd certainly get it.

each to their own, right? IMO it's no crazier than some of the other more bland "dude in a suit" suggestions in this thread.

EDIT: i liked the memento suggestion BTW. one of my favourite movies and seeing rainman do those tats on a suitable body would be cool.

Interesting suggestions, very nice.

(edited my previous post when realizing what Rainman actually does)

I have. Certainly original but wow I just couldn't fathom anyone spending that much on that character is all. :peace

Oh of course to each their own. Just surprised me is all.

Plus this wouldn't stand out as much with anyone who already owns a Lord Vader of some variety. :lol

The mere shock of someone saying "Dude, is that DARK HELMET on your Shelf?" is worth the price. Only work done well of course, It's why I collect customs. The shock value that Wonka & Oompa are going to have will be priceless!

i don't know - rick moranis is a pint-sized icon of 80s comedy. to be honest i've yet to own a top notch vader. i have the medicom but it's short, the SS one never appealed and i missed out on the hurricane ones. i'll wait for HT's. but even then, i think with SW being so prolific in terms of merchandise, and vader toys everywhere, i think people would be more drawn to a 1/6 dark helmet. he'd be such a unique and lovable addition to the collection. i can understand your surprise though - you have to really have grown up with and have a connection to the movie. that's why i thought only me and turbo would go for it.

Pee Wee, Doc Holiday, Travis Bickle, Gary Oldman Dracula....... There just so many great characters we would love to see given the Rainman treatment because he truly makes what seems impossible, very possible in 1/6. It really is a privilege to own his work.

A Pee Wee Herman and Dark Helmet on my shelf...Too much!
