It's that type of crap that makes me want to get out of this hobby sometimes. I remember when sideshow figures were the best thing around and fair enough they looked like crap but back then it was just about the fun of the hobby and the community that made it so great.

Intentionally outbidding people and having a wallet war just because you can just makes you look like a **** to me and definitely doesn't suit this hobby. :dunno

Good luck to everyone bidding , I hope someone who actually wants the figure manages to get it.

No wallet war here. :)

I bought a Wonka DX with no Oompa in hopes that the owner of the Oompa would sell me his. It didn't happen and I sold my Wonka to a fellow freak who had a seller in place but was stalling. I sold him mine and decided I would chase the DX down the road.

I bidded on a Col Mortimer earlier this year and come to find out I was on a bidding war with another board member.

That board member told me he would not have bid if he knew another board member was also bidding :)

So we can all pretend everybody else in here is dumb and does not know how to use the search function on Ebay or we can work as a community.
If the board member is a Freak than he didn't even bother to go through here. :dunno

Like I said before. I already knew about this. I'm placing one bid and one bid only (Not now though I need to sell some more stuff lol) Like I did with Col Mortimer and when the countdown begins I am taking my family out to a park or to eat. If I win I win if I don't I don't.

hey steve good luck with the auction bud. wish you the best.
dont know why it's such a crime to post it in the thread, we're just messing about in here anyway.
and snake, check your pms i sent you something i think you're interested in.

and thanks for the 'official' wishlist too. i'm trying to think how we could make the list of even more use as it seems that there are--minus the top few choices--a lot of single votes scattered everywhere. like maybe some sort of runoff between what's been put on the list...

Robin Williams-any attire or film reference is fine with me
Axl Rose- Huge Guns N Roses fan and have all the Slash figures, would love to have Axl
Happy Gilmore or Billy Madison- any Sandler character would be great
Chris Farley- Tommy Boy (If it ever gets made a David Spade would be great to go with it)
Ron Burgundy~Ricky Bobby -any Ferrell character would be cool

I like the way the top finalists are looking! BTW Army you have to add one to Duke. Someone posted him as Hunter S. Thompson and they are one in the same :wink1:

And we're all on the lookout for the same things here. You have to assume that 85% of the usual suspects here are hip to a Rainman listing on the 'bay within 12 hours of it getting listed. And while probably more than 50% of his cliental is on this board, you then have to know that you'll always be bidding against board members.

Honestly I stumbled on this this morning but I wasn't going to advertise it :lol. You can only shoot yourself in the foot that way. Bottom line is it DOES suck to know that you're competing head to head with people who you're cool with. That's why my approach is to keep it quiet. I assume that I'm competing with people that I like but I rather not know about it. I'd assume that most people on the hunt would find it on their own but I'd pray that it would slip thru the cracks. Not being a d__k, I'm just shooting straight. I surely don't want to lose out on something that I'm chasing because I decided to be a nice guy and share info with the crowd. I'm a nice enough guy and I give back to the community in other ways :)
Not saying anything to you Steve, you have to do you, that’s just my personal take on it.

That guy who's posted the dx wonka must have a really top collection. Same guy who posted those kojun pacinos a few weeks back that cleared about 5k between them. Wish I could see the entire collection in that house.

Edit: sorry made a mistake. They're different auctioneers but they both have what hint to be really cool collections.
