Just thought I'd post this just in case some were wondering how exactly I got this look with the scarf:
First you need to fold it in half lengthways like so:
Then it needs to be wrapped around his neck with the loose ends draping over his right shoulder.
You then pass the loose ends through the loop on his left shoulder while maintaining the fold from step one.
You gently tighten the knot (remembering to keep the fold)...
... and then futz with the layering to achieve natural layering like so:
