Hi everyone - look what I picked up last night!! :clap :yess: I have about half of the glasses needed to fulfill your orders. The metal etcher is finishing the rest asap. The final glasses will be silver frame with semi translucent red lenses. I'll be working on finishing the glasses this weekend.

Had a busy week so spent the time today to paint up my masked Sculpt. Still need some parts for the full figure but here is a quick iPhone shot of the headsculpt with paint. Looks awesome.

Glasses update.
So the photoetching has not produced good results but hang in there - there is a final solution now but first the details for those who want them...
First these were going to be cast plastic to be painted.
I had hoped to cast in translucent red but was then told this would not work. Casting at all was going to be near impossible and none of my casters wanted to take it on. On top of that I discovered that the clear cast would not work well as it is very brittle and would break when de-molded.
Then I attempted photoetching - that has been a nightmare with delays. Got the frames finally then discovered only 6 of the first 30 were useable after painting them.
The slick plastic has proven difficult to get it to stick. Superglue did not work. I used a spray adhesive but that has had its own challenge. The test this week resulpted in a 50% success rate. The lens have to be pressed firmly to adhere. BUT - if pressed too firmly then the residue from the spray adhesive gets on the good side of the lens. and to be honest - they have not looked that good.
HERE IS THE GOOD PART - So I have made a deal with my printer to batch print these glasses. They will all be done in one batch and 100% consistent. They should be here by the end of next week then orders will start to ship over the weekend.
So thankfully it has finally been resolved. I will post next week when I get the glasses.

UPDATE: Spoke with the glasses printer this week and the first batch of glasses have turned out great! First batch of glasses should be here at the first of next week with orders beginning to ship as soon as we have them in hand and have done a thorough QC check. Very excited for you all to be getting these very soon!

UPDATE: I spoke with the printer today and the glasses will be arriving here tomorrow! I will be doing a QC check of each pair and some final sanding. Then we should be able to ship a few orders out this weekend. I've marked those whose orders have been shipped in italics and added a note about shipping order to the first post. As always, if your order ships this weekend you'll receive a notification to your PayPal email address when your items are ready to ship.
