Hey guys. Originally the plan was to attempt to cast in clear red but the clear resin was too ridgid and would not work for a part this size. Then I attempted photo etched metal frames with red plastic lens but those looked aweful.

But there was always a chance these were going to be cast solid but just ended up being printed that way.

Anyways, I got my tracking number last night and the tracking still isn't showing up.

I got all the labels made through our shipping software rather late last night, after the PO was closed. Those who got shipping notifications yesterday will have their packages sent to the PO today. Don't know how long it will take them to scan, but all is well.

If you could get the lenses on the rims that came with the sculpt to look like the lenses on the second picture then it'd look great. Speaking of which, how'd you make the rims for the 2nd version?

I was thinking of painting my rims silver and then buying transparent red film to glue onto the lenses.

I have a series of Kotobukiya metal glasses, I bought a bunch a while back of different types for another figure.
They are lenseless, so I cut out some thin transparent plastic, glued it to the back and painted them red.

For those who don't get their order fulfilled this week, the good news is that if the caster is able to make about the same amount of casts next week, this entire production will be completed next week.

PLEASE NOTE!

Of course these are fragile and would be no matter what they were made from but I have a very important bit of info for you.

If you are waiting a while to get your glasses painted they need to be primed or put away in a dark box/place (if you are not handy with paint and primer) asap.

The resin is UV cured and will grow brittle over time if exposed to sunlight or slower with interior light. Covering with paint or primer will stop that process.

If you need a recommendation - Tamiya Fine Surface Primer is AMAZING for this. Good coverage and air-thin.

I'm posting this general business update in every active thread I have right now. Thanks for reading.

BUSINESS CHANGES: Over the past 6 months I have made significant changes in my business practices. Some will be visible and some won't. My wife, Lady CREG on here, has come on as Director of Operations and is overseeing all administrative duties such as customer service, shipping, order keeping and fulfillment, replacements when needed, etc. She has completely turned this ship around and heading in a fantastic direction. I am no longer taking final payments for any projects until I have the final product in hand. We have done some things to make the ordering process more streamlined. I also have a new shipping system in place that makes the process more automated and gives each customer a shipping notification when their order is ready to mail. Things are running quite smoothly now. I've been able to find some really quality casters/manufacturers to work with and have secured one caster per project. Most importantly, product is getting produced and shipped in a much more timely manner. It is my hope that you can and will see the positive impact of these changes in current and future projects.

If I did not cover something you are needing to ask then feel free and I will get with you asap.

I want to thank you all for your patience in this process and the understanding you have extended to me. It's help get me through some rough spots when all of this has gone to chaos a few times. I keep doing this because I truly enjoy this hobby and like making products for you all to enjoy, too.
