Ok, I wasn't happy with the scale or the detailing on the last helm so decided to start from scratch also working on the upper armor

Im sure you are already planning this but Are you going to make the armor a to accomodate a rather bulky undersuit?

It's sitting rather snug there I know , but surprisingly there doesn't seem much to to it and only covers his chest, I ll be sure to leave enough space :wink1:

Thanks hotslayer there's going to be a lot of refining in this one. Found a another reference pic yesterday which added a whole lot more detail. I'm also wondering about the texture on the helm, some shots appear to hav none, replicas have a stippled effect and on my last I wen for a hammered effect which I think suits the period well

a little progress, worked out how to offer the belt, I'll sculpt and cast in flexi resin, so it will be nice and pliable, proportion wise this guys working well, the shoulders need redoing, note a lot of the detailing is just place holder ie all the ornaments on the helm

Looks great man! As for the helmet I do like the image (below) where it looks like the texture and paint work is simulating snake skin; but many would that be a ***** to sculpt and paint :lol

I'm planning to sculpt as many as I can, I cant promise 100percent accurate placement :thud:

Thanks guys, the body armour went in the bin last night, I started to bake it then decided to make it a different way, but on the plus side the sculpting of the Base helm is complete, took some work with all th detailing, is about 15 percent bigger then the 1st attempt with the detailing half the size

I know the feeling when you get something almost then work out it can be engineered better lol. At least it's usually quicker the second time
