Hello!

I have a 1/6 scale model kit of Bane from Batman and Robin, and I was curious on how I could go about recreating his “mottled” body paint effect. I’ve done some normal skin stuff, but nothing like this.

Does anyone have any suggestions or examples?

Here’s a picture of the actor having the makeup applied.

Thanks! :)

You can try painting it a base coat color, then take your other color and dip a sea wool sponge in the other color. Dab off most of the paint then dab it on your figure to get the effect. You’ll need to practice it first to get the “feel” for it first.
You can also use an airbrush and stencils cut to the pattern.
Good luck!

Thank you so much! I’ll try that sometime soon and be sure to post the results. 👍

I think the skin effect turned out okay, but I went way too dark with some of the colors.

Anyone have any suggestions or feedback for how this is looking?

I haven’t finished Bane yet, but I got a wild hair and wanted to try painting a Batfleck head - this is my first time painting a 1/6 head sculpt (I typically paint 1/12)

Any constructive criticism is greatly, greatly appreciated. I’d love to improve.
