I Completely disagree, the strap is 100% necessary. I'd never display SE without the included goggles or visor and if you plan on using a different set of goggles you can cover the sculpted strap with a cloth strap or just cut off the strap from your goggles and use some glue or blu-tac to keep your goggles there.
This is for those that want the SSC statue head for 1/6, which is exactly what was planed. Without the strap or retainer, those of us that wanted the statue head will now have to fix the missing strap and retainer somehow just to satisfy the few who want to use their own goggles. How are we supposed to add a strap to the goggles that this will come with, glue one to the head? It won't look as good as having them a part of the sculpt.
I'd say release it as planed and those that aren't happy with the strap can deal with the headache.
