Re: [YUNSIL] Indiana Jones ROTLA outfit (SHIPPING PAYMENTS DUE)

It's a Banner, DX05, TTM19, Solo...the clothes all will fit the same. It's all comes down to futzing and weathering to makes this set look good.

Futzing I can do. Weathering? That's a different story. Wonder if anyone offers this service.

Looks great! What body is that?
Thanks man... it is a Banner body... probably going to shave some of the underarm section on the chest down so the arms lay closer to the body... no more time to play today.... 😕

Still need to water treat it, send it off for weathering and trying to get in touch with mfisher for his rig. I have my issues with the set in the packaging it looked great, but day one putting it all on the body i hated it and just dumped it back in the detolf. My main issues were the jacket seems HUGE to me and its killing me trying to get it looking natural while dry, and the vest snaps are impossible to hook for me so they are not done up. Its all very love/hate at the minute

Once weathered up and properly futzed you will love it Mark.

I hear you buddy, futzing can be a pain.

If you do an image search on Indiana Jones you'll notice that his coat is too big for him as well. The jacket falls off his shoulders and the sleeves are too long, that's why there's so many wrinkles on his sleeves.

I really love the tiny hook closure on the shirt. It makes the shirt look much flatter like a life-size shirt where the buttons are.

The only issue I have with the set is the green belt, but that's not a deal breaker. My favorite part is the functional belt buckle.

Futzing is one of my favourite parts when it comes to figures as i always try to get things as natural as i can. I just can't do it with this jacket without water treating it or paying more to get it weathered as i sure as **** won't do it myself. The shirt thing is a nice idea man im not doubting that, but the sheer size of the plate you hook onto and how fragile they seem just doesn't work imo, and i can't get them hooked without them popping back open when i attempt more futzing.

The tailoring is top notch as always from her the stitch etc but the jacket just bugs me, might not bug everyone but it bugs the **** out of me.

I know what im doing :duff also your jacket looks a lot more fitting than mine, i try to put wrinkles in the sleeves and they fall right out :dunno

I'm having similar issues. I like the shirt attachments, but they keep popping open when trying to adjust the shirt. The jacket seems to fit large and the arms just fall straight when trying to bunch them up a bit. I know we all received the same items and some are just better at this than others. I happen to be one that is not really good at this, which is why I like to ask questions.

So what is the secret to this water treating? Cold, hot, wipe it down, dunk it, let it air dry, put it on and adjust while wet, etc? I have no idea.[/I]

Re: [YUNSIL] Indiana Jones ROTLA outfit (SHIPPING PAYMENTS DUE)

Water treating: make it wet, shape it in a way that it looks naturally draping, and just let it dry, the clothing will hold the position.

Re: [YUNSIL] Indiana Jones ROTLA outfit (SHIPPING PAYMENTS DUE)

Put the jacket and the trousers into 2 seperate bowls of boiling hot tap water. Get rid of any excess water before putting the clothes on ... i put the shirt on then the coat and futzed a little... then i put the trousers on, tucked the shirt in and used tweezers to get the shirt sleeves down the arms... then i pushed the sleeves all the way up past the elbow and left them (they are still like that now) mine is still a work in progress... hope this helps...

This is everything Jake and i did on our Indy.

While the outfit is on the body...Water treat everything put wrinkles in the jacket and fold the shirt out so it will be more. Put wrinkles in jacket while wet too by folding it up the arms.

Cut the lining out of the jacket turn the sleeves inside out spray them with fabric stiffener. This is how you get the wrinkles to stay in.

Spray the jacket with some matte sealer to take away the shine.

Glue the jacket lapels down the the jacket so they lay flatter.

Weathered the jacket with different shades of brown, black, and lighter brown acrylics and re-seal it. Also used some chalk pastels for a dust effect.

Dry brushed a lighter brown over the wrinkles with the sleeves pushed up so they look more worn.

Tuck the extra jacket material behind the figure and put his arms down to his sides to keep the extra material from sticking out. It will keep the jacket looking more slim this way.

Hope this helps :)

Ouch!!!

I think I can design the next Apple car before I can do all of this!

Brilliant post!!! But virtually impossible for me to execute! Kudos to the brothers!

Jake told me about the Fabric Stiffener. Other than that I planned on doing all the stuff you mentioned.

Thanks for giving me the validation that I made the right decisions. It means a lot coming from you guys.[emoji482]

The only other thing I was planning on doing was using tiny strips of clear plastic to give the collars on his jacket and shirt better form.

After cutting Astros of plastic to the proper size I just use a hair dryer and a small cylindrical shape like a small wooden dowel to mold the shape, I use the toilet paper roller [emoji23]

Then I flip up he collar, glue the plastic on the lower back portion of the collar, then fold the top part of the collar back over and glue it to the plastic.

If the tips of the collar are a mess I cut tiny triangles and glue them under he collar tips out of sight. I sometimes glue just the tips of the collar to the shirt if that's what's required to make it look right.

Indy's collar is tricky, it makes kind of an "S" shape. It bows out like he removed a tie, and the tips curl up slightly. So his collar will be fun.

Here's some pics of what I mean.

Good idea man but with the way the jacket lays the shirt lapels probably won't be that visible, at least you'll know it's there.
