Okay folks, DoggieDoc printed another test run, and we're looking for reactions, mainly on size.

And here's the previous, larger print, for reference...

It’s only slightly too large in the larger print and much too small in the smaller.

The neck rest is in line with his neck. It’s a deceptively large/wide chair when you look at the production stills.

Thee crazy thing is I only reduced the size by 5%.

So in the new print the top of the headrest is just below neckline whereas, from screenshots, it should go up to about the base of his skull but no higher. Thoughts on that?

Hmm...it definitely look like more than a 5% reduction.

The larger one looks to be about the right width.

There is no way to replicate the sinking-in effect from sitting on the chair. It could also be any issue of the precise shape of the concavity.

May try scaling vertically and study the digital model?

Yeah I'll obviously mess with it a bit. At least now I know it is between the original size and this one.

Yeah the chair definitely seems a bit small there I'm afraid. I wonder if making the seat a bit more sunken in might help? A switch-out lower seat would seem to be the best option, but not sure how hard that would be to engineer.

The QMX Kirk sits way too high in his chair as well (even with the pleather seat), so it's clearly a tricky problem to solve with these things...

The QMx Kirk chair also has a butt indentation, which might be worth considering here. Nothing fancy, it just curves down to simulate sinking in.

The Doc told me he’s got the seam and “butt dent” added to the model, and all that’s left is rescaling it a tad bigger than the last print.

I’m looking forward to seeing the next update!

Yes sir this is correct. Unfortunately I am moving in about 5 days so the reprint at the correct scale will likely have to wait until then. Thanks everyone for your patience, though!

Can’t wait, bro!
Thanks! I am moving THIS WEEKEND so hopefully I can have my work space at least somewhat usable by Monday, but we'll see.

Oh... and I also am having my new LASER delivered this week!!!!!!

Yeah the height in the back looks perfect now! Only concern I have is that the lower seat seems maybe a bit long? And even when he's scooched forward in the seat his legs are still angled forward a bit much. But I realize there's only so much you can make this fit a plastic figure.

I'm really looking forward to seeing the whole thing assembled. :)
