when if ever is any of this supposed to happen dan? i seriously cant see any of this taking off without enough people for each project.., and even if, its just too mant projects for one person....please update this thread real soon with either a ""go"" or ""no go"" with any of this.....i honeslty hope it all happens...but seeing as how much work goes into just one project on the board i cant see this becoming a reality?? its just going to keep growing and a snails pace and build up to a huge let down for a lot of people.......please chime in dan.....thanks...:dunno
Well, of course this is too much for one person...! This is a survey... a wishlist of everything everyone wants. I'm compiling and forwarding the replies to my team. Things have to hit critical mass... for them to be considered, and eventually produced.
What is critical mass, you ask? Well, naturally, it depends on the complexity of the request. Ten, maybe even just five, people asking for something like Marty's purple underwear make it a go. And if you see my other thread, it's available already... But asking for something complex, like a complete Doc Holliday outfit (especially without a consensus on style, color, etc.), takes far more. Designing patterns for the coat alone takes a week to perfect, let alone all of the other items. If you're asking someone to spend a month of their life realizing a complete ensemble of several pieces (for which no existing patterns can be used), then there needs to be many, many orders and at a justifiable price-point.
If you'd like to see these things, just keep making suggestions.
At this point, several items are already available or underway:
Marty's jacket
Marty's vest
Marty's jeans
Marty's shirt
Marty's underwear
Marty's backpack
Jordan's jersey
Jordan's shorts
Christian Bale suit (underway)
Tony Stark suit (underway, since it'd be the same design with different pattern fabric)
etc...
The other stuff, still takes time. Rainman got people worked up for a Val Kilmer/Doc Holliday for awhile there... but the fixed cost still seems disproportionately high compared to how many want it and at what price they'd pay for it... Not to mention discounting. I've taken enough interest threads to know, even after you produce something at the price you announced you would, a good chunk of prospective buyers don't come through. I understand that. I don't hold it against anyone. But I do account for this phenomenon as I plan future endeavors.
Currently, my designer is working on revamping Braveheart and Gladiator gear for me for a more improved set (which has always commanded worthwhile prices on ebay) as well as some commissioned 1/6 bridal gowns for some private clients...
All I can say is just keep making requests and be patient. No promises. If that's too hard to stomach, then I don't know what to tell you.
