Denny did tell me they underestimated the amount of time and cost for the weathering. I would have paid more to have it properly weathered. This just seems too predictable as stated above.

Robbie, I agree with the weathering/paint being predictable. It doesn't look like something that would occur naturally while paining over time. Looks like it is specifically placed.

What type of paint should be used so we can add some weathering ourselves?

Actually, when I look at the jacket sleeves, my first thought was little flames like on a hot rod hood.

What do you not like about it, just an honest question?

I take back everything I said. Just picked it up at the post and I am really impressed with the outfit in hand (see pics below). The materials are excellent
And the weathering is great. This is one of my favorites outfits by Iris.

Glad to hear it, I think it looks great. We are a lucky few to have this figure. As far as display I am not sure if I want him with the smock on or jacket.

It's great to have both so you can always switch up the pose between smock and jacket.

Agreed, I can picture him standing with the smock painting or sitting in a chair smoking his pipe with his jacket on. I really can't wait to see Robbies accessories although I know he is busy.

This is why I didn't want my stuff weathered. Way over the top - it's not weathering, it's a painting on the clothes - and Iris confirmed via email all sets have already been painted. :( I'll go so far as to say the paint on the clothes looks ridiculous. It just looks like someone used the clothing instead of a canvas to paint on. Doesn't look at all natural. I'd pay another $50 to get the set unweathered.

Gutted.

I have to agree with you. Looks deliberate with no thought of how it should realistically look. What type of paint is this? I'm thinking of taking a little thinner or mineral spirits and removing some or rubbing it so each color mixes with the others. There is no realism to it. For those who are talented in this area, it's probably no big deal, as you have the skills to modify this, but I certainly don't.

Agreed.

i wanted this to be better than the Serang version! (Would liked to have ear bandange, even though its a small.thing im ridiculuosly untalented).

Im mainly buying this for robbies props as i know he will bring the game with no shortcuts or quick work.

i dont want to have to keep coughing up dough for fix ups though. Would of liked to have seen abit more paint on the jacket pockets. Right now its got flame on cuffs and rainbow stripped paints.

those brushes look amazing... wow!
I know its asking alot but id throw my cloths set to robbie for a tidy up or realism for extra $$

I don't know guys, Van Gogh lived in squalor most of his life. He was diagnosed manic and suffered bouts of insomnia where all he would do is paint, doesn't seem unlikely that he would be too concerned where paint would go outside the canvas but that is just a thought not a fact.

You are right, since he wasn't concerned where the paint went, his clothing was like an extension of his palette. It shouldn't appear with clean lines and separate colors in unison.

I get what you are saying, although I am happy with it I understand you guys wanting it to be right. Ultimately this is a set we few are lucky to have and getting it to look how you imagine Van Gogh to have looked is reasonable. I hope you guys post updates to see what an alteration looks like.
