As much as I love the clean version, the BD one looks more like a real world version of year one.

Well approx I would say yes.
THose runs still cost some money into sculpting, bodies, suits etc a,d all the works putting them together.

Battle damaged for me as I figured from the start.

I definitely don't have enough (or any that I can think of) battle damaged figures and this just screams "own me" :lol
