I managed to switch the cathode tube to the hot toys hilt,it was suprisingly easy to do,I was worried about drilling through the ht hilt but I barely had to do anything to it.and it can easily be put back to the way it was.

No,I used the unlit hilt,although I imagine the lit one would be just as easy,as soon as you remove the blade.

But I haven't tried it yet. There seems to have been a mix up with my understanding of what type of power adapter I was getting. I thought I was getting the EU one, which (to my understanding anyway) is styled like this:

But I got the UK & Ireland version, which is styled like this:

That means I won't be trying it out immediately :gah:
