Re: Bill the Butcher belt and knives?

It will begin for sure after the case. I just got wrapped up in the excitement of Pulp Fiction. I knew I could do the case. There are unknowns on the belt. I have been thinking about how to make some of the hardware. There are some pegs and Im not sure how Im going to make them. Casting would be ideal, but I would have to sort out a rig for white metal casting. I would rather find something that I can buy and mod. Also I have been searching for the buckles. I can't make all these parts or no one would buy the thing because it would be too expensive. I lost my *** on the backpacks in time because I scratch built everything. People got a great deal on those. I have no idea the amount of hours that went into those pieces. Also my two shows open this and next week so then I will be free of some serious stress and distractions.

The backpacks were were fantastic and I think everyone that purchased one appreciated the time and effort you put in to make them and glad to have you around to do so .
sorry you lost out on them man but by doing so you shot right up to the no.1 hot spot on the board as the best accessoriser .
(Speaking about myself here) I'm not to concerned about price on the belt set
As I want the best with the best components ,reel steel real wood leather ect....,and I know the more time you take the better the set will become like the packs a true masterpiece .
SoWhen you free ur time up from work bud
Go get ur self a massage de stress
And knock this one right out the park for us .

Re: Bill the Butcher belt and knives?

Thanks Robbie again for exploring the belt set. Would be a dream come true to many of us.

Re: Bill the Butcher belt and knives?

I'm sure you'll find a way to do the belts and if they cost more than you initially planned I'm sure most of us will have no problem paying for the quality you put in to them.

Re: Bill the Butcher belt and knives?

Started the drafting today of the blades and got a wild hair to make the clever. You know, just to make sure I can.

I'm really digging it. Its going to be even better when I get the process down.

What you see is mild steel that has been blued with heat so its real. This is not paint. The wooden scales are glued and riveted on with brass pins that are hammer down. Other then using mild steel, this was made exactly as you would the real thing.

I wish you guys could see it in hand. The pics don't show the bluing very well.

Re: Bill the Butcher belt and knives?

They look great buddy.
Mild steel WOW! are they pressed or cut by machine or by hand?
I made one recently by hand out of 2mm thick alluminium plate
took me ages.
Glued the wooden handle on then drilled right through and hammered steel rivets right through and then polished the metal.

Re: Bill the Butcher belt and knives?

Cut on a portable band saw, poorly I might add. I need to get a metal cutting blade for my small vertical band saw. I'll be able to cut the profile easier. I thought about aluminium but I knew I wanted to blue it so I went with 22 gauge steel. Correct scale should be around 25 gauge, but this was the only thing the hardware store had. When these go into production I will try and get a the correct material.
