What is everyone thinking about doing for their Sherlock outfits? I'm not really sure which direction to take at the moment.

Careful, according to the board we aren't allowed to talk about that set. (Even though il totally be getting it the day it comes out and using it for my bash).

Strange choice to put him in a tie. I thought Sherlock always went tie-less.

Yeah, I don't really want to support PopToys, but their suit looks better than the BCS in some pics I've seen.

Same here, but the windbreaker suit I have is very nice. Just toss the sculpt.

And sorry, but a run of custom suits for $250 each has no interest for me when a great and cheap alternative is readily available.

Poptoys are calling their complete figure "Sherlock" and are in direct competition with a licensed product.

A random black suit is a bit different IMO because you could use that on any custom figure. BLNadal is right about the fact that there are plenty of good ones around however, but like cmiller99, I too would love a custom one to have that definitive Sherlock figure with daco's sculpt.

Don't forget that a lot of customs are ignored/allowed/turned a blind eye to here if there's no licensed figure in competition. People are entitled to their opinions and everyone draws the line at different levels, which is fair enough. Ethical? Who knows. I'm like cmiller99 - if I can not support a company that is in direct competition with licensed products, I won't.

Personally for me it is all about finding the best compromise between price and overall quality of the figure (typically fit of the clothing). Compared to PopToys, BCS loses on both counts so I have no reason to go with anything else.

Those custom suits are nice, but no way am I spending $250 or whatever ridiculous prices tailors are charging these days just to get something when a great and cheaper alternative is available.

Im sorry, but I just can't bring myself to care enough to take a hard line stance on counterfeit doll clothes.

Also, like I said - daco22's headsculpt looks way better than BCS. So, I'm okay with supporting legit items, but improving them with extra parts and still keeping the originals.

And that's fine. Sorry if I seemed like I was attacking you, I just feel like I have to take a strong stance on this issue because of the overwhelmingly negative opinion regarding "illegitimate" items on this board. Some threads have become borderline witch hunts, with people going back and forth accusing each other of buying recasts or grey-market counterfeit items. Once, I even saw a few members seriously considering starting a pinned thread where members who have been accused of buying a recast would be listed to insure no one on this board sells to them.

Of course, all of this moral grandstanding goes away once an item comes out that everyone wants such as the Art Figures "Judge Daedd" figure or those recast Superman boots that everyone used for a chem suit Walter White.

Il just be honest and come out to say that I don't care about any of this. At the end of the day, we are talking about toys. Im going to use whatever decent looking parts I can find for the cheapest.

If you feel differently, great. I just don't want to be attacked for disagreeing. (That last statement is in general, not aimed at you.)
