My stance is if I can support legitimate companies, then I 100% will. I have a few "custom" figures, so I'm definitely not on my high horse about it.
I hate agro and egos. A few times I've read people ranting and raving on here and seriously thought about leaving - and I've only been a member a short while. Everyone is allowed an opinion, but when they go on and on and try to force it on someone else, that's when I get annoyed.
Also, although it's over the top, as you've pointed out, I do get it when people don't like the fakes/copies of figures. It is taking sales off legimitmate companies and is illegal at the end of the day. If I owned the copyright and was being ripped off, I'd be annoyed. Even though we get overcharged for figures most of the time - but a proportion of that is paying copyright holders.
My personal line is - like with BCS Sherlock - I'm buying daco's sculpt to improve it. I don't have such a problem with head sculpts and extras adding to existing, legitimate figures - it's just complete figures that are blatently ripping off copyright holders that makes me hesitate and look for alternatives, if I can.
Back on topic - Like I've already said - I personally would be interested in a custom suit, although if I can find a very good alternative, like ShadowX81 has pointed out, I would go for that too. The Windbreaker suit is very nice - again, probably better than the BCS - and I may use my spare and would recommend others to get it.
