Re: Death Dealer 1/6 "frazetta" CLOSED

Can anyone recommend any techniques for weathering cloth, sandpaper, hammer :) etc , ps sword hilt is in the oven

Re: Death Dealer 1/6 "frazetta" CLOSED

Sand paper works pretty good for metal and clothing, if used lightly. Doing a dark wash works good too, where you dilute acrylic paint so its very thin and then soak and rinse the fabric in it, ring it out and let it dry. Dry brushing with acrylic works for dirty spots.

Couple ideas...

Also wanted to put my two cents in about the horse. First of all I love the idea but how could we find a horse big enough? I mean with the KP most 1/6 scale horses would look to small. And if we were to do it I think it should be with a big draft horse like the one in the iconic painting.

sandpaper is good but i like to use these......a 3M sanding sponge for stuff like that

FYI guys, I plan to finish mold making this weekend and start the kits for those who have paid (will take pics). Been stewing on a way to do the Axe but I now have a plan.

Re: Death Dealer 1/6 "frazetta" CLOSED

good to hear shock.............:woo

my kp's are on the way as well........:woo

been emailing Luis (horse guy) and i asked him about any more tall draft horses such as Clydesdales and though there is some "lost in translation" in our emails he has said he has some tall draft horses in progress.............so i may wait a bit before purchasing the one i was originally looking at. hopefully it won't be too long.

Re: Death Dealer 1/6 "frazetta" CLOSED

Looks like my KPs are shipping as well... seemed BBTS was a bit slower than others.

Re: Death Dealer 1/6 "frazetta" CLOSED

btw..............for those who want a "real" chainmail for DD........i've been scouring for some kind of mesh fabric on the interwebz and ran across this for an idea.
images

they are chain mesh gloves that some butchers use. they look like they could work with some mods here and there. they can be pricey but that varies as well. going to look more tonight and see what's the cheapest i can find them for.

U would have an awful time taking them apart im sure.

Re: Death Dealer 1/6 "frazetta" CLOSED

Will look into that for sure

maybe not take them apart but cut them and then run new rings.

the top of the glove could perhaps fit around the torso & use two of the fingers for the left side drape down the leg & the other two for the right. then the thumb could be used for extra mail for wherever you might need some.
tin snips would probably work good for cutting this stuff.

Re: Death Dealer 1/6 "frazetta" CLOSED

I wonder how the body would hold up to the weight of that? These look pretty sturdy, but over time I'd be worried they might start to wilt.

BTW, has anyone contacted EvilFace about a run of stand decals? I imagine he could do something pretty cool with this one.

Re: Death Dealer 1/6 "frazetta" CLOSED

Just sent the balance of what I had left to pay =)

i haven't as i had planned to put him on a horse............but don't know when that would happen. a pile of skulls kind of like some of the terminator bases i've seen would be awesome.
