Re: Death Dealer 1/6 "frazetta" CLOSED

no i haven't recieved the glove yet..........should be here anytime though. did you get a good price for the one you scored?
i meant to ask about if the kp can hold that axe with one hand (axe looks soooo heavy :lol ) holding it up at an angle like the painting. i predict it can but would like confirmation............:)

Didn't buy the glove yet, just considering it but $60, As far as the Kp holding it up, just testing it now and is holding just fine, the wrist is the weakest point and it's staying up :) the KP elbow doesn't bent as high though but close, an issue will be the the Resin Handle, I've casted the Sandtroopers Rod as the handle it's as wide as the KP Hand grip will allow, if it will hold the shape over time i'm not sure but it will be well Cured by time it reaches you.

PS on your kit I will be shipping early next week and probably one other kit. As I'll finish it come the weekend. Making sure to cast a couple of pieces each night.

Updated the 1st post with approx percentage complete & shipping order.... more for myself to keep organised

yea i was a bit dissappointed with the elbow angle not being able to go up more. i wanted my t1 police station shootout arnie to be able to hold the ar-18 more strait up than it can.
damn...........i gotta get crackin at the workbench to clear stuff.........:panic:

yea i'm beyond stoked to be part of this project.............this is just turning out better than i could have imagined. shock is the man..........:lecture

Re: Death Dealer 1/6 "frazetta" CLOSED

He certainly is :lecture

And when he completes an armored Thulsa Doom he will be the "Greatest Man" of all time :rock :rock :rock

Speaking of Thulsa doom, I found some pretty cool black snake print fabric that will look great for the material under his armor :rock :rock :rock

Re: Death Dealer 1/6 "frazetta" CLOSED

Thanks guys, I only hope it meets your expectations when you get it , I managed to get hold of the firm Sculpy which supports sharper details so will be good for Thulsa and all those scale details.

Re: Death Dealer 1/6 "frazetta" CLOSED

Wonderful :rock :rock :rock

I found the firm a bit difficult to work with, but a 50/50 mix of firm and super is great to work with.

Re: Death Dealer 1/6 "frazetta" CLOSED

hey guys thought i would post a few pics to show the scale of the chain mail.......
dd1.jpg

dd2.jpg

holding his dress up......:lol

dd3.jpg

might be a touch out of scale but overall i'm quite happy with it & expect it to be epic once put all together. i think the size glove i have will be enough to go from his shoulders to just below his knee......well hopefully anyway...:)

Barryo I think the glove may be perfect scale for at least the "skirt". And if you look closely at the original Frazetta painting, it has a slight gold hue to it. I bet the mail you're gonna do would look great if it was very slightly dry brushed with a gold paint.
And I have a question for shock.....how well will this kit fit on a HT advanced body?

hey spyder & yes sir....i had already planned for a tinting of the chain mail and i plan a dark color overall but will use a printout when i do the final weathering to him. i just need to run down a fur material for the cape that gives off a stringy dingy look.

That looks great, and the size works really well for the skirt, I will be doing this too!!!! do you have a link to the where you bought the glove?

Sorry Spyder I'm not familiar with the HT Body types, if you can post a pic with the head (thats how I can tell them apart) I'll have a look at the HT bodies I have here, I'm guessing it will be slightly oversized. but post a pic & I'll see what I can do.

After playing with the TT a bit if this is the one, I wouldn't reccomend going the real chain option, it'll constantly be doing the splits

Wow hes looking incredible!!! And Shock no need to send samples(thx!). I may just go ahead and get the KP anyway. Also, with your permission I'd like to post a few pics of my old Death Dealer here on your thread for a reference on alternate ways to set up their DD. I'll be driving to Dallas today so I'll put them up when I can if your ok with it. Enjoy the 3 day weekend!!

Go for it mate, yours is an Epic figure.
I think that figure may be a bit slim the thighs look better then the KPs

Just in general the KP will work a bit better than the advanced due to it being a larger body, the more sculpted look to the arms and that it costs less (now at least) than the Advanced.

Personally I'd save the Advanced body for a project using a fully clothed figure that needs to be more muscular.
