after seeing spyder's DD eyes with what i'm assuming are some kind of lens i may look into doing something similar with a red led to light that helmet up from inside.........:yess:

Here's a pic of one of the harness I made and it's a super simple to secure the armor. I used two little o-rings(Hobby Lobby) and looped the leather lace through it, then glued the Leather to itself. The lacing is all one piece and it's glued to the inner part of the armor. Then you just run the lace back through both o-rings, then back again through just one and it stays put. I took a little extra time to make all of the armor and mail removable in case I ever wanted a different body. The little rivets are all metal. Just drill the right sized hole in the armor and push the rod through, and snip it off from the back. Dab a little super to the pin head part first and it will also stay put.
The helmet was one big solid piece of resin so I drilled it out and cut the eyes out. The "lenses" are just those colored folder tabs cut down to size and then glued to the inside of the helmet. I was going to try an LED but never got around to so I just used a repainted Marvel Punisher head that happened to fit the helmet. View attachment 50048
I sewed the smock thingy out of some heavily skived leather. I wouldn't recommend you guys do it unless you have a lot of patience. I don't think I'll do it again for Shock's kit. Speaking of, it looks incredible and I can't wait to start on it. The Corinthian breast plate is a nice touch!!!
Thanks guys,
Good idea with the straps was thinking the same too double loop
As far as armor it's a bit of a mishmash of era's but kinda works funny enough... probably cause so many movies mix & match.
It's a fun one to paint and soon it's the mud & blood
Once these 1st 4 are finished, I might take a short break from casting these, maybe a couple of weeks...... The wife would like her kitchen/family room back . So we'll have to set a date for the next run as they are time consuming to do
I'm presently making 5 for shipment, for the guys who've paid. I'm not canceling just giving the wife a break from the mess . Just for a couple of weeks..... Not long, I'm on here every day so I'm always available if you wish to contact me. Consider it preemptive marriage counseling
Shock I understand the wife thing. Luckily I have my own dedicated man cave now
I'd also like to propose something for all of the buyers of your kit. Let's have some fun with this and post out ideas and progress during the build. And I think we can start with you. I live the way you have your prototype painted. So when you get a chance would you mind telling us what brand and colors you are using? For mine, I used acryl, fun metal and silver for the dry brush. Are you using chrome? And also to everyone out there buying this kit: I have quite a big supply of leather remnants. After I get my kit and I figure what I'll need I'd be more than happy to send some out. Just pay shipping which would be cheap.
One more question: how did you attach the helmet/head to your base body? Will it come molded with a hot toys style female port? And are you going to make a back plate? Also, has any of the buyers ever read the death dealer books written by Silke? Frazetta supposedly asked this guy to write the story of the death dealer. I have te books in storage but I remember that the death dealer became the slayer after a "wench" gave him this mysterious helmet after a roll in the hay lol. The paperbacks are quite hard to come by these days but they can be found on eBay from time to time.
A couple of quick answers... I'm at work
Paint, I've used a range of tamiya acrylics, base black dry brush chrome silver with washers of black, browns and ablack silver mix so there are flecks of sliver in the wash followed by a dry brush of silver again. The neck joint isn't molded and will need to be drilled out to fit. I don't have any plans for a back plate to suit the Corinthian Brest plate with this kit, ( i will be making one eventually for a spartan custom however there is the skull plate for the back which will be over the fur on mine
Ok Fellas this is it, you all are probably sick of my pics and just want your kits, well now I'm happy with what I'm offering and here's the fig with all the bits on (not all painted yet or attached properly) I added 3 Tasset plates and a little bit of sculpted chain to hang over the groin.
I introduce the Final DD kit
The 1st 3 sets are practically ready & I just need to add these couple of pieces eace
Thanx mate, believe it or not it's a very slap on job, this is pretty much my test figure & plan to strip it down and start a fresh one. GB & barryO will be very excited with i started to play with tonight :wink1:
