This is an interest thread to guage how many fans of this anime are there who would wish to have a kit set for Death Note's major character 'L' (Lawliet). Yes Medicom did make a figure but its long gone now and has a body which snaps anytime it wants and are listed at crazy prices online... so anyone who wanted it forever like me but realised that the fates always conspired to make sure you didnt get it... this thread is for you.

The kit would ideally comprise of a Headsculpt, sculpted hands, sculpted feet, white t-shirt, jeans [all sculpted/tailored to match the proportions of the Hot Toys Slim body]

No seamstress or sculptor has been contacted yet, I am hoping if we can show enough interest some of the numerous talent on the boards can agree to help us out like Johnny Cheungkinmen/Eric (Zkulptor)/Rocco and Moe/DChung etc for the clothing. If it gets enough interest we can even convince Denny to make it. Considering he has supplies of bodies and more we can get full set figures with accessories..

in the end it all depends on the interest we can gather so here it goes!

If one comes, so will the other hopefully :) ... I would hope the success of one would bring in the chance for the other... and this being the less 'complex' figure (in terms of clothing) I wanted to see how it comes down first...

I love Death Note and own the Medicom figures. Fortunately, mine have not wanted to snap.

Curious to see how this comes out. Best of luck!

List updated, and yes the HT Slim body is ofcourse my main preference and repainting only the exposed bits to match the sculpt and hands shouldnt be a problem...

Great idea! You'll be making a lot of customizers happy :) If you guys ever do a Ryuk set, I'd be all over that. Or even a Misa head, it would be easy enough to put together any one of her outfits from available clothing pieces!

I wasn't sure about the concept of using a True Type Slim for this; I actually pulled out my L and my TTM-22 to compare them....

The Medicom body is MUCH skinnier than the True Type... especially the waist, thighs and neck.
Although, since you mentioned you'll be sculpting to scale with the True Type body, I'm sure you'll be able to make everything look alright visually. Just a heads up that the True Type body will definitely lose some of the anime-look, but probably not so much that anyone will be disappointed :)

Must be some kind of synchronicity going on, I'm actually working on a Movie-verse L figure as we speak, using a TTM-22. Should post finished pics next week!
