Re: Hey You Guuuuuys! - Update - Tailoring

Thanks for the update Riggs. Great to see the progress.
Quick question. The trousers above are a too light in colour compared to film scenes. Will these be darker after weathering?

Re: Hey You Guuuuuys! - Update - Tailoring

The lighting doesnt help much. I think the pic below is closer to the look of the material. Weathering will in fact darken these some. Though I'm debating about having the material even darker still. I've also asked them to take in the jacket because it really needs a tighter fit.

Thank you for the comment.

Re: Hey You Guuuuuys! - Update - Tailoring

My impression was that his jacket was a size or two too small, a hand me down from Jake that didn't fit very well?

For reference, the sleeves in this scene are cut well above the shoulder and the length is a bit shorter.

Re: Hey You Guuuuuys! - Update - Tailoring

Nice find! That's the impression I got as well. Receiving the pics, taking in the jacket was the very first thing I asked them to do. Here's the collage I sent to the tailor.

Re: Hey You Guuuuuys! - Update - Tailoring

I know that material texture doesn't always come across well in digital photos, but the material shown for the t-shirts looks a little coarse. In your collage above the Raiders T is far more flimsy.

Re: Hey You Guuuuuys! - Update - Tailoring

It's hard to say. I have a John McClane figure with similar material for the tank top and it doesnt show quite as bad in person. I'll have them send a couple full body shots with the next update. May give us a better feel.

Re: Hey You Guuuuuys! - Update - Tailoring

Hmm I’m with GrimSeed here-

I don’t think Unleashed Viper’s fabrics for the top part are the right choice. The pants look good to me but not the top. It’s bugging me and seems off. The quality of the fabric is questionable and they just do not look right to me. Even the brown jacket has the wrong fabric, I think. I wish there’d be more feedback from other people on the list to help out with the fabrics in question.

Re: Hey You Guuuuuys! - Update - Tailoring

This is what tshirt material looks like up close guys. Below is a shirt I purchased using a similar zoom as the sloth photo. In hand this will likely look the same as most other sixth scale shirts.

In the meantime I've asked for a full body photo as to show you all the material isn't as bad as you might think. Pics aren't always the best way to judge the end results.

Re: Hey You Guuuuuys! - Update - Tailoring

Here's our supes symbol on sloth. You'll notice the weathering is black. That will be changed to match the shirts color so it doesnt stand out so much.

We've been working at matching the raiders logo to the shirt material. Hopefully I'll have that to show soon.

Re: Hey You Guuuuuys! - Tailoring WIPs

Okay, here are some rough pics of the work in progress. Everything's being tweaked and finalized. Clearly nothing has been worn or weathered. It's also good to note that the head isn't positioned properly in these. I'll leave a little commentary below the pics.

Showing some of our attempts at matching the material color. Not the final color or cut of the logo obviously.

A strip of bandana tails.

Showing how the bandana will peak out of the pirate hat with a fedora substitute. Also the suspenders, one sewn in and the other loose.

The suspenders are darker in person nut will still get a little weathering as well.

Re: Hey You Guuuuuys! - Tailoring WIPs

I know the photos arent particularly great but they are wip. The prototype should be finished in the next few weeks. I've asked that he take some really nice photos of it because the next step would be deposits.

Re: Hey You Guuuuuys! - Tailoring WIPs

Thanks Riggs. Looking forward to the proto

Re: Hey You Guuuuuys! - Tailoring WIPs

If anything I like to be honest. So, I'm fairly happy with the shirts, suspenders, bandana, and pants. The cut for the raiders logo is pretty bad so I'll be taking that over to get the intricate look I want. The coat is just a mess and will likely have to be redone. Knowing the coat is to be redone and the weathering is yet to come are you guys comfortable going ahead with deposits?

See pics above for more on the clothing.

Time to voice your opinions. Call me crazy but I'm thinking of tossing the jacket and raiders shirt for a super sloth version instead. He'd come will all but those two items. What say you?

This weathered and with suspenders as the outfit:

Re: Hey You Guuuuuys! - Opinions

Yes I agree. Take out the Raiders shirt and jacket. Go with the Superman shirt and gray pants. They do look much better.
