View attachment 139402View attachment 139403I like both of these.
There is a deal with why the Smirk has been chosen. Firstly as you all know Masterworks has already released a Clint Figure. The stony expression is very very apt for Blondie who is a very very silent type guy. Plus there has been a Dirty Harry figure by another talented artist in the past which went with that expression.
The slight smirk in my opinion not only ensures that its not a redux of the previous Clint as well as previous Inspector Callahan.
Plus it also makes a unique Clint sculpt which may later be a unique representation, just like how the Patrick Bateman screaming sculpt which became more popular than the regular one became...
The smirk IMO does embody the cocky and hard case personality of Callahan... Plus it goes well with the clothes and the iconic scene...
You're correct in that they're equally appropriate, but I think, when you're talking about figures, it goes a little deeper than that. There have been two stone-faced Eastwoods, if you count the DX head, from MW, VM has done the stern expression, Spenser has done the stern expression; there have been a ton of Callahan customs and bootlegs at one point or another, but there's an untapped market in the cocky Harry, if you will. It's just as definitive of the character as the pissed off interpretation, yet, it's almost criminally underrepresented. You have stern Clint after stern Clint after stern Clint, and, eventually, "signature" starts to seem generic.
Like I said in the beginning, I've always felt that pissed Harry is Callahan when he's had it. He's fed up; he's tired of the beurocracy, red tape, and so forth, and he wants Justice, whether it's legal or not. With that in mind, Harry is at his wit's end by the end of the film. Such an expression isn't really as suited to option A. Yeah, there is a screen shot of Harry "pissed off" at the beginning of the film, but I don't think it's really reflective of the scene. Harry's pretty care free throughout that encounter. He walks down the street with his .44 in one hand and a hot dog in the other, for Pete's sake.:lol Part of the genius of that scene is that the "sternness" is entirely feigned; it's all a part of his bluff, if you will.
I remember there being a bootleg sculpt of old Clint a few years ago, but I'm not sure about the rest. Shouldn't be too hard. Black tee shirt, some HT Indy pants, and some black dress shoes and white socks. Hike the pants up to his stomach and you've got yourself a done deal.:lol
anic:A BIG Update for you gents: the sculpt is completed, and casting is underway. The prototype should be ready sometime in late November. I'll say this, though: get hyped.
This is easily the best damn Dirty Harry sculpt I've ever seen, and one of the best Eastwood likenesses out there, if not the best. This sculpt does for Dirty Harry what The Cowboy did for Blondie, and, like the rest of you, I am waiting with bated breath to see the finished prototype. Prepare to be blown away, folks.
It's the smirk, and, honestly, it's about as close to perfect as you could get, in my opinion. I'm telling you, you will NOT be disappointed.
you got us alll hyped up hehehe
