Well I do hope that collaboration extends to the paint work on Rainman's releases. He has worked with DF Studios since, I think, he first started selling through his site. And this move to iminime appeared out of necessity because DF was unavailable to help with Doc. But though we haven't seen those in hand yet, the consensus view from prototypes seems to be that iminime is much preferable. That's my point of view, anyway.

And a liaison between artists and the boards is really helpful when there is a language issue, or a time issue where the custom artist can't devote a lot of time to feeling the pulse of the forum membership. It benefits the artist and the forum in that sense, so I'm glad there are some like yourself who get enjoyment out of it. And if there are perks in terms of having some influence, then that's only fair.

Hahaha I can assure you iminime are a team where even if you liaison for them no matter how much or how well, they will ONLY do what they decide internally irrespective of how much you push for a personal project. I dont want to repeat an oftspoken issue recently but still just to elaborate, currently with a few recent Rainman projects I see the the trend is if you are his buddy and you push hard enough you get your figure, I dont see any polls or anything anymore for the general guys to show their interests.
Thankfully thats not the case with iminime, they decide on projects from their own wishlists (eg. The Se7en Figures, Leo Messi, That Twilight Vampire thing) if they are unsure of what to make they will go by polls or confirmed interest (Michael Corleone, Ra's Al Ghul). So you have as much chances to get done as me or anyone else, as long as there is serious and considerable support.

Plus Ill tell you something what makes the work even more enjoyable and easier is that Denny is a great guy, although there is a language issue, he is extremely patient, courteous and open minded guy and obviously hes a comparative small player in the 1/6th custom field. He will want to reach the heights of Enterbay or Hot Toys. So it is important for him to be in touch with the pulse of the public. What he does now will define where it may take him
 
sorry Larry my key board messed up high five we both have the head play sculpt, mines wearing the 89 joker out fit.lol i ,d welcome the lobby scene full figure. Axe ur doing a great job with the interviews great for the hobby to get to know the work behind it all :)

That's cool then. I thought maybe you were able to nudge them toward the Ra's full figure, or maybe even on some decisions regarding accessories, but if not, that's cool, too. Seems fair to me though, that someone get rewarded for playing that kind of role somehow. I wouldn't want to do it. :lol Being a mod here there are similarly burdens in trying to perform a kind of community service without many concrete rewards, but it needs to be done if the forum is to be a reasonably pleasant, functional place. So I can understand your POV if you are more into it for the purpose of just helping iminime out with their plans of just creating and selling great work for the sake of getting that stuff out there.

As much as Id hope you guys get what you want, chances of that happening is slim. First iminime are getting out of making only sculpts, they are focusing on only full set figures. Now to make a Tony with his fatsuit full figure, I dont know how popular Tony will be for iminime as all his figures have to be popular in Asia too for him to sell well. Messi got made simply because Messi is an extremely popular icon for Asian football lovers (and the world over obviously) Plus barring a few, I dont see many wanting to buy Fat Tony for $300 or so... and many is significant like 70 people or something.
Iminime are increasing their edition size, the Seven Figures are limited to 70 each with the DX being I think around half that number.

Honestly I would have pushed for a Rainman with Iminime collaboration for a Patrick Bateman, with limited no of Full sets and stuff like clothing and sculpt set too on offer (similar setup to Rainman's normal offering) Would be great as Rainman can focus on sculpt and accessories while Iminime can do the clothing and painting and Im sure since it will be more limited than iminime's usual numbers people would pay around $500 or so per full set figure and the possible clothing and accessories...

I agree that Bateman is a perfect candidate for the Rainman/ Iminime treatment. I disagree with saying you couldn't find a good enough amount of folks to make a Tony Soprano figure though. I've been lucky enough to bash a top notch Tony figure, otherwise my vote would have gone to Tony over Bateman, Se7en, or Gordon.

but if it looks like bateman is a real possibility, I say everyone whos interested rally!

You dont get it, I wanted to say Iminime still have to cater to their local asian loyal collectors who have been buying from them religiously since their inception.
There has been a lot of backlash from his existing fanbase due to the potential issue that 'The Demon's Head' can end up as a Sideshow Freaks exclusive (if we can hope EVERYONE on the 50 edition list pays in time and agrees to pay a price that at the moment seems to hover around the $300-$350 mark) Plus if you read the interview I posted, you will see how they make their figures. Tony may be popular here but most will try to get away with buying only a painted sculpt, and iminime are getting out of offering only sculpts. Whereas like I said I dont see many wanting to pay $300 type prices for a Tony full set and also a 70 piece edition selling out, as The Sopranos is not much popular in Asia.
24 yes, Dexter yes, House yes... not The Sopranos. We have enough indegenous mob movies and shows, and honestly the concept of a story intorwoven around a mob family isnt new here so Sopranos never really caught on. Surprisingly there is a big fan following of a show 'Castle' which Im yet to see, but the women love it. Oh and 'Walking Dead' Thats VERY popular...

Wont raise hopes by telling you it will not happen, as although HT have confirmed NOT to do it because Nolan requested them not to or something like that. Joker is still a HT property, and iminime will NOT make him. Same with Rainman stuff, iminime wont make a Bounty Hunter edition of Blondie simply because Rainman made the main cowboy edition long back
 
Voted Ripley myself. If this poll gets put in the Aliens and Robots section I'm almost positive she'd be winning this by a mile. :lol
